Perhaps she is allergic to it? Some of us are you know. Mind you she could have said it better.
It could also be an image she has concerning the scented items. I refused to wear tampons for two reasons as a teen: 1 they hurt and 2 I thought it would get stuck. (Something my mom always said.). Also some of us get very sensitive to smells and all i would smell would be that light floral scent and drying blood. Not very pleasant. So next time why not just get one from the matron/nurse or carry some unscented ones around with you?

Tell you friend you think she was out of line, continue telling her she may want to think about using scented tampons in the future. Then find a new friend!

Eww what a beeyatch
Then you should tell her to buy her own things if shes going to act like that.
...or even better tell her that you dont really use the scented tampons---you just thought she really needed one.

Teenage girls learn early that menstruation is a private matter. I'm certain she was embarrassed at having forgotten to bring her own. In order to make herself feel better, she found something to chide you about. She did this because she was embarrassed and misery loves company.
Approach her and, in a most innocent tone, say, "Wow, I do apologize that I was not fully stocked of feminine products for you to choose from. Forgive me, as I was unaware that I was more a drug store to you than a friend. I must politely request that you seek another vendor." Then, leave it at that. She will have only succeeded in revealing her own lack of tact, while reinforcing your obvious class.

Not being a chick, but if I were, I would have snapped back "beggars can't be choosers, but if you insist, I'll take it back - I can see my effort to help you avoid a moment of embarrassment has gone unappreciated - I suggest you get a reality check, as it is none of your business what sort of tampon I use - that is my personal business and mine alone. Thanks for tipping your true personality to me - now I won't have to waste time interacting with you any more. Have a nice day dripping all over the place, you c*nt."

Is that really your friend to put you on blast like that? She sounds ungrateful and rude. Reconsider the friendship. Who cares if its scented, that doesn't imply anything. Its your own preference and you entitled to that. I would've told her to find her own and make her feel stupid. You should've put the tampon in her mouth to plug up her stupid mouth and comment instead of you know where.....

I would tell her that it is my choice to use scented tampons. And if you don't want it, don't use it. But, beggars can't be choosers. If it's that big of a deal, she should have been prepared. How insufferably rude!

Shake it off, attitudes are shaped by stereotypes. Perhaps she thought the perfumed scent would be at nose level, once she was actually using it. When she gets in a "spot" again, tell her you can't help her out!

I had no idea they axisted. I think it's cool. it's like those new Always that come with wipes, and aloe vera. It's not because we SMELL it's because we feel more secure, at least I do.
I just don't understand. She is a girl like you and me. Wouldn't it be logical for her? And if you like them why is she like that?
You were nice enough to giver her one, I she could at least say thx and put it on. She could think what she wants afterwards but she neednt say that!
I would have just taken it from her hand and left her there...

My father would have told her not to look a gifted horse in the mouth. You were giving her something she needed, very rude of her to make any comment about what kind.
