I live in a dorm and we are allowed 'guests' to stay over...well the girl next door is extremley loud during sex sessions with her visitor. Not only is it annoying, she sounds like the whales talking in Finding Nemo! I hate it because it tends to be in the middle of the night and I have a hard time getting back to sleep after being woken up. I've had a gentleman friend visit me and I go through pains to ensure that I am not loud or heard during sex...what is a tactful way to tell her to keep it down because her sex sounds are really loud, annoying and keep me awake? I want to just bang on the wall but I want to show a little class. Any suggestions?

if you are friendly with this person just go ahead and tell them
if not slip a note under the door so she doesnt know its you and thinks it might be someone else
all else fails give her a taste of her own medicine

Okay, there is a screamer next door. What to do... You can knock on her door before you head to bed and hopefully before the sex session starts. Let her know that the walls are thin. Hopefully she'll get the idea. If she doesn't, then you need to bluntly say, "You're a screamer and it wakes me up at night. Shut up or go to his room." Hopefully the prior will work. She may not know she's a screamer or that she is that loud. If she does, then she has no class.

Your neighbor may not realize how thin the walls are. I would recommend putting the TV next to the wall and play a movie at regular volume in the night. When she makes a comment about it to you then you have the opportunity to explain why you did it. Then offer her this solution. You can buy sound insulating material from home depot. If she refuses, maybe she likes to be heard, then you go to home depot and put it in your room.

But to answer your question, if this IS a real question, they are being rude, so I would first try telling the young woman in question that you can hear her, she may be embarrassed, or maybe not. Let her know that it is interfering with your sleep, and how annoying it is. If that doesn't work, I'd pound on the wall and yell "I can hear you." Even if you have to do it several times, that might "deflate" the situation. : )

Just tell her. Stop by her room when her roommate isn't there (or take her out of earshot) and tell her that when she has loud sex, you can hear it. Don't try to be rude or discuss her sex life, just let her know that you can hear.
If she's embarassed or didn't know, she'll be more quiet in the future. If she was being loud on purpose, she won't stop. There's nothing you can do if she wants to be annoying, but there's a good chance she doesn't realize that people can hear.

talk to the RA; that is what they are there for. That way, she does not have to know who is complaining, assuming she has more than one neighbor. You have to live next to this person for the rest of the year, so getting the probelm taken care of in the least confrontational way is the best answer.

Slip a note under her door. She's possibly not even aware that others can here them. This would stop the embarassment of the moment and give her a chance to correct it.

Just bang on the wall.
However, if you were able to rig something like a loudspeaker to wake everyone else up when she's having sex, that would be a good way to get back at her. You'd have everyone mad at her.

Isn't there some rule about not making noise that can be heard outside your own room, especially during certain hours? If so, just ask her to keep the noise down at night (you don't have to say WHAT noise). If she doesn't, then report her to whoever has authority over dorm rules.

You could call the Resident Assistant (the administrator of your floor) and have him/her take care of it.
Slip her a note under her door politely informing her that her private activities are not so private due to her excessive volume. And request that she respect others' need for sleep by being mindful of herself.

Record the inconsiderate orgasmic rants on tape or disc. Title it: "The whining sounds of Sperm Whale in heat" Put it in front of her door or mail it.
Or, you could title it: "Votes against disgusting dorm trumpets.
Then put them up for sale!
