(Child's name) was like a flower,
Lent not given.
Left to bud on earth
and bloom in heaven.

Sympathy Card Loss Of Child

2016-11-04 11:16:48 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

First of all, you must be a very compassionate person to understand that this is a bittersweet time for your friend. Many people overlook the death of a twin because they think the parents should still be overjoyed by the remaining child. Make sure your card is exactly what you say - poetic and hopeful. Make sure you address the baby who died, in addition to welcoming the other baby. You might, depending on your or your friends' beliefs, want to remind them that their remaining child has an automatic guardian angel. Make sure you say that you will always remember the other child. Sometimes parents feel like the only ones who grieve over a baby lost so early. Good luck to you and your friends.

Its so hard to find the right words on sympathy cards.
And its so much harder the younger they are because they never got to live their life.
I had to find one for my bf friend. Their child was 6 mths. In fact both have now passed as of this week.
The card is not as important as the fact that they need to know they have a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear.
Let them see you are there and strong.
"In your hard times there is always a listening ear. Be strong
There are no words to express my feeling but know that I am here. She will never be forgotten her memory is always here."
But in any case here are some words

A leaf has fallen in the pond
Made ripples far and wide
The leaf, it now has gone 'beyond'
And yet still lives inside.

It is not the duration of a life that matters but the extreme joy it has created during its existence. Although the body gone from physical awareness, the soul thrives and keeps on loving.

Much sympathy for your grief, and encouragement to reach for the eternal love that was evidenced in this short rippling of life's pond.

That is so sad and i feel sorry for you having to right the card coz I dont think there is going to be anything you could write to make the parents of the child feel better. But as long as they know your thinking bout them at this horrible time.

I think just short and sweet, like one other person said "heavan welcomes xx"...

I also heard another lovely idea - on the childs next birthday, send the parents a bouquet of flowers (yellow roses signify friendship). Obviously the child's birthday will be a hurdle to get through, and it would be nice for them to know that you are still thinking of them, however long after the passing of their child.

I'm/ We're so terribly sorry to hear of your loss, May the lord guide you and keep in the days to come. you are in my prayers love....

Good Luck now more than ever they will need their friends and family if not today, mark your calander and check back in 3 weeks or so when everyone else has moved on.
Being a good friend isn't just about being there today, but next week also.

I would write thinking of you both at this very sad time , and sign the card, nothing you write can help the pain, but just let them know that you are thinking of them will be ok.

I think Tyanna Daisy covered it
very nicely.

We all lose our parents. That's the
way of the world. But when we lose
a child, we somehow feel cheated.

Dear ---------,

Words can be so frivolous in this time of loss, so I offer you a listening ear, a warm heart, and a prayer for peace. My thoughts are with you now and always, and I hope that you will not hesitate to ask me for anything at all.

With much love,

-------------
