If it's a good friend, I'd spend a little more. Try to pitch in with a few other close friends and get something bigger. If it's an aquaintance, I usually go with something simple, like a giftcard or a blanket. Especially if you don't know if it's a boy or a girl.

I just gave $50 to the daughter of an old friend. For an acquaintance, I'd say $25 if you know them like through work, or church. For someone I barely knew, I would wonder why I was invited, and probably not go, or go for a bit, and drop off a onesie suit, @ $10.

depends on how good of a friend or auaqintance this person is. I spent 25$$ on just a friend ive known for 4 yrs. My best friend from high school i spent 100$ for me it just depends on the # of yrs you known the person
