My son is 17 months old and suddenly wants nothing to do with his bottle at night. He's still doing ok on his morning bottle but at night hes only drinking about 2 or 3 oz, and he usually drank about 7 or 8. Is this a normal age for kids to not want a bottle anymore? Should i try giving him milk in a sippy cup at every meal? How much milk should a 17 month old be drinking? Help!

I have a 3 year old he'll be 4 next month. He sneaks food, plays in the bathroom, gets water everywhere takes whatever he can to put water in and puts it all over in his room, gets into toothpaste any kind of meds that are in a tube. Like a cream and paints it on their desk in their room. He got the salt this morning and dumped it all over the floor. His dad and I are divorced and I am remarried. I am pregnant and we are getting ready to move. I don't know what to do anymore with him. I know its hard cause we are moving, but this is getting out of control. And costly too.

I had took my daughter to a specialist when she was about 1 1/2 and they didn't see her walk on her tippy toes so they assumed she didn't. But now she won't stay off them and she's two and a half. Should I video tape her doing it to prove to them that she does? They said she would out grow it but I don't think shes going to. What should I do?

My one year old has had the stomach flu since Friday night. He vomited all night the first night and vomited and had diarrhea the next day. Saturday night he went to the ER to get IV fluids and yesterday he slept most of the day. Today he is still sleepy and weak and still does not want to eat or drink. I have to force feed him fluids - could it be something other than the flu or does it usually last this long?

I know of a lady who puts her kids down for naps at about 10 in the morning. Her oldest is 3.

Sometimes, they are in there until 3 in the afternoon because she says they can't come out until they sleep. They stay in their room all day and play with toys until they're tired enough to take a nap. I've thought about saying something to her, but I don't think it's my place. Should I? I hate to step on another parent's toes. The kids are otherwise well cared for and loved- it just seems like a lot of time shut up in their room.

My seventeen month old daughter has learnt how to climb out of the cot and does it as soon as she has finished her milk. I have now put her matress next to our bed but find it impossible to get her off to sleep. She was always a bad sleeper but now impossible. She ran around until she passed out at 23:00 last night, and woke up again at 04:00 am and from then a few times until 07:00. Now I am trying to get her down for her lunchtime nap but it is 14:00 already and she is still running around. What to do, please help. I have noticed the normal things like pushing her in the buggy or riding in the car etc. does not work anymore, she starts crying from tiredness but can't get to sleep. Help.

I have compromised the matter with my son who insisted to suck. I've agreed with him to allow him to taste my breastmilk in a cup. I told him that it's Ok to embrace and kiss my breast (but not nipple) only from above the shirt. It means that he is not allowed to kiss or suck my nude breast. He embraced me and kiss my breast (not nipple) from above the shirt and striked his face with my nipple (it wasn't nude) for 1 minute and kissed my face too. Lucky, he didn't suck forcibly as like as he did before 2 days. Read my previous question to understand.

However, I won't smack him if he try to pull my breast outside shirt (I hope he won't do) but I will resist him from sucking and I will remind him with our agreement. In my opinion, the adults are vexed when they're told that they do something wrong. Therefore, I don't want to let him feel that he is abnormal in comparison with his classmates. I don't also want him to do odd behaviour with compared with his age.

Is this solution Ok ?

My two year old son vomits all the time. Not because he's sick.. but at the times when he is in trouble. When it's bedtime and he gets upset..he gets upset to the point that he vomits. When he's in trouble, he'll upset himself to the point where he vomits. What causes this? What can I do to correct it? It's literally a daily thing.

I know this sounds weird but my 20mo son hardly ever acts out. He used to all the time and then I got strick with him by giving him time-outs and he shaped up really quick. He is very gentle now and is really loving and sweet. He does scream when he's upset but I talk to him and explain to him why I said no, etc. And he calms right down. On very rare occasions I have to get angry at him he quivers, I think I have scared him into being good. He does love me and give me lots of kisses. Do you think that's possible, to be scared of me those times?

i'm trying to get my 12 month old daughter away from the bottle and onto a sippy cup. i haven't completely taken the bottle away yet because she hasn't gotten use to anything else (sippy cup). and every cup iv'e tried she'll take a small few drinks then throw it down and not pick it up again.i dont think it's a horrible thing that she still prefers her bottle because she is only 12 months old, i just dont want her to get too attached. iv'e used nuby cups and playtex cups both soft and hard tips. any suggestions?

I have tried to make it easy on her by not telling her that I miss her so much when she is gone..I have not spoken ill of her father. I have kept every bad deed he has done from her verbally. She wakes up crying on the weekends she has to spend the day with him begging me to tell her it is not Saturday/ Sunday. I try to make leaving me quick and painless. I hold any tears I have until she is gone..I try to only think happy thoughts so she won't get a negative vibe from me...He is not physically abusing her...but It kills me. How can I make this easier on her. I love her more than life. I would and I do anything/everything for her.

My 13month old son is obsessed with eating bananas, like a lil monkey, lol. He is eating at least 3 whole bananas by himself a day and I am afraid to let him eat any more than that, which I am sure he would. Is there any danger in letting him eat bananas, like an overdose in potassium or anything that I need to be worried about?

...and she is in so much pain. She's understandibly being very clingy and she can't stop crying. I talked to her nurse about different pain meds, but she wasn't being very cooperative. I've been trying for hours to get my baby to calm down, because she needs to rest, but it seems like the more I try, the more panicky she gets. She keeps telling me that she wants me to hold her, but she can't move, so I've been holding her hand. That doesn't seem to help either. She's one of those girls that just needs to be close to somebody at times. It makes her feel safe. What should I do? I hate that she wants me to hold her and I can't. I can't seem to help her at all.

Grandson is 2 and a half years old and a total terror. He has been booted out of daycare twice due to extremely bad behavior and a risk to the other children. He bites, throws things (including chairs in day care) lays on the floor and kicks and screams when he is told "no" and even hits and bites his mother. When they come to our house, nothing changes. His mother who is our daughers just says "no, no" that is bad. We have a four year old in the house who he hits and bites and throws things at. He is a terror!!!! No one in the family will keep the child for her if she needs to go somewhere. She realizes he is a misbehaved child and calls him a "devil child" to family members. My husband (the childs grandfather) says if she comes over with him any more he is going to leave the house until they are gone. He came in today and broke an expensive Halloween decoration that we have. It has gotten to where we hate to see our daughter coming if she has the child in tow. What to do? Thanks

My son is the middle child, I jokingly blame the way he acts on "the middle child syndrom." Seriously though, wow he has gotten way out of control. I have lloked at the SuperNanny site, Dr Phil, and nothing seems to help. He is very strong willed. I am at a loss. If you put him in time out, you have to stand there or he will not stay...then he tries to bite you. If you spank him, he laughs at you....then he will charge you once you turn around and try to hit you or worse punch you. If he does not get his way he litterally will pick up toys and throw them in any direction. We have aq new baby and I knew it would be an issue with him, but I never thought it would be this bad. I have seen my share of rowdy children but he takes the cake on rowdy and mean. I stopped spanking him because it got to the point where it does not phase him at all and he just charges you and tries to get you worse. HELP ME, he will not win this battle I wont let him but I need advise. he will not win this no way.

She gets into everything, tears up everything, finds a way to get into everything no matter where it is, doesn't listen, is so hyper, yells and screams when you try to discipline her, doesnt care about how others feel, hits people, I could go on and on.
I took her to the doctor but that didnt help. The doctor said I need to put her in time out and take things away from her. What help that was... not.
When you take something from her and tell her no, she just finds something else to get in to. And time out doesnt help. Spanking doesnt help. That doesnt even fase her.
I am exhausted. I work more than 40 hours a week and then have to come home to a disaster area because of her. She doesnt get sweets so she isnt hyper because of that.
What am I doing wrong?? I am persistant and everything.
My husband cannot control her either.
