my 12 month old daughter started drinking whole milk, about 5 days ago, and the past couple days her bowel movements are a beige/tan color. Is this normal it has me worried?

Yes, it is normal. Just watch for excessive loose stools, this can dehydrate her.

If it comes with excess gas, or she seems to have a belly ache, then she could be lactose intolerant. Both of my kids drink soy milk because they had a very hard time on cows milk. We went form breastmilk/formula right to the soy, and its been great.

is she complaining of any pain or does she seem uncomfortable at all? was her previous formula milk based? if you brest fed did you drink a lot of milk?

It may be that her body is adjusting to the change over. poop comes in many colours as I'm sure you have noticed by now lol. Unless she is showing any other issue i wouldn't worry about it to much.

My three year old is currently being weaned on to cows milk from soya milk as she had a lactose intollerance from ayounge age ........ her stools have also gone the same colour since having cows milk.

It is totally normal. I have 3 children and work in a daycare and every child does it for a while. I think their system is adjusting to the change. She will be fine.
