My 18 month old clearly has a sore throat - he has difficulty swallowing and is suffering, poor little man :( Apart from Calpol which he is having four hourly, is there anything else I might have in the house at this ungodly hour that I could give him to help?

My girl was pretty much potty trained, she would always let us know when she needed to go, until she went to the store and one of the automatic sensors went of and scared her very much, now she is afraid to go anywhere even at home is a struggle, and she is now having constant accidents.

Every time my son eats anything he gets this rash on his face, I mean anything!!! It is almost as if he is allergic to his own drool, or maybe his skin is so sensitive that anything with turn it red. He eats all kids of food, and this happens from everything from fruit and veggies, to dairy, to even dry foods, like cereal, or toast. Does any one else have this problem? Does any one know what it is? IS he allergic to everything... Or his skin real sensitive? Just so we are clear, he does not break out any where else on his body except his face like his lower cheeks and chin, any where the food touches.. Thanks!

We have been trying to get her to use the potty for a while now. I would say about 2-3 months. She turned 2 in June. She would say she has to use the pot after she's already done what she needed to do. At one point she was pushing a #2 out on the pot but then stopped. Is this nervousness or what? I have a friend who's 3 and 4 year olds are still in pampers. I don't know if it's because she doesn't feel like dealing with the pot in the public or what. I don't want my daughter to be like that. What do I do?

Specifically I am looking for ideas of things that I might be able to help my 5 year old make since we don't have much extra money right now. The 2 year old is really interested in blocks, babies, and animals right now.

I am not fond of stuffed toys because unless they are machine washable it is hard to keep them clean. Plus when I lived with a friend who has 3 kids we had a lice outbreak in the house ( I didn't get it personally or our son)....all the stuffed toys were put in bags and had to be put up for 2 weeks. They hold any smell they get into them, you cannot sanitize them....I just don't really like most of them!

I have a nanny twice a week and she insists on forcing him to eat, literally opening his mouth and shoving food in while he cries. He does eat more this way, but I think she shouldn't do it and it makes mealtime awful.

All my son wants to eat is cheese and fruit, he refuses to try anything else. He is 30 months old, and is only 26 pounds. He's so skinny, he still wears 18-24 months size. The pediatrician says to just keep offering him healthy meals and he won't starve himself. What else can I do?

I have tried her in underpants all day and talking calmly to her when she has an accident, but every time I ask her if she needs to go to the toilet she says no and then walks away and pees her pants. I have tried putting her on the toilet but she does nothing except try and wipe herself with the toilet paper like its a game to her. I have also tried a rewards chart, but still no pee in the potty or toilet. Help please I am going insane.

My 2 year old daughter talks with her tongue between her teeth making her words sound as if they end in "s". Should I be worried? Will she outgrow this? How can I get her to stop doing this?

My daughter is 2 1/2 and all of a sudden she is extremely shy. She is not shy around other children, mainly extended family and friends. She is so shy, she now covers her eyes and buries her head in my chest until they leave. She is stuck to me or her dad like glue and will not look at them.
If they speak to her, she cries.

She has always been a happy child and it's odd to see her act this way. I am assuming part of it is probably her age.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did you deal?

Thanks.
