i have a 4 year old and she loves all toys including baby toys. i think she likes them because they are different to her toys..a change from the norm. its probably whats happening to your little boy as well...i really wouldnt worry kids are kids and all toys are great at that age..especially other peoples x

Are you kidding? My 7 yr old still likes to play w/ baby toys. They come out w/ so much cool baby stuff anymore, it's no doubt your 4 yr old likes them too. I don't separate my kids toys....if one gets a toy, it's for all of them to play with. The only exceptions are things that they could break, such as a riding toy where your 4 yr old is over the weight limit, or a game of your 4 yr old that your 18 month old might break or get choked on small pieces. The point is that they play together, and if sharing baby toys is how, then I say let them do it.

Completely normal but it sure can be frustrating! My oldest child is 5 and I also have a 2 year old. When the youngest was younger, the eldest always wanted to play with whatever baby/toddler toy the baby was playing with. Now that they are a bit older, the 2 y.o. likes to play with the toys the 5 y.o. has. ;)
All of the 5 y.o. friends who come over to play immediately check out the toddler toys. One little boy even unpacked a bunch of baby/toddler toys meant for freecycle. They were apparently much more interesting than anything my 5 y.o. had!

so you want a 4 year-old to grow up? look, sweetie. life passes you by soon enough. let this kid tinker with the younger ones' toys. what harm? it also introduces the 18 month old to early sharing. oh, by the way, it is very common. and there is nothing wrong about it. hell, i'm a lot older than 4 years old and when going into a toy store with my grandchildren, i finger everything. i mean I FINGER EVERYTHING! some kids never grow up, at least when it comes to toys and stuff. relax, enjoy the kids at the ages they are cause sooner than later you'll wish they were 4 and 18 months old again. childhood is only once in life, dammit!

Yes, it is normal. I have a 4 year old and a 17 month old. They play with each other's toys.

Absolutely. Believe me they will want almost anything the baby has because they are somewhat jealous. Just keep telling him how proud you are of him, and how he will be able to teach the baby how to play with the big toys when the baby grows up. He will eventually get bored and start playing with his toys too.

yes I suppose it's normal, I have a 4 year old and an 8 month old and he plays with the baby toys too, he probably feels great because he can manage to play with them and understand what they do.

I wouldn't worry too much. I have a little girl who is nearly five and a one year old, she loves playing with the babys toys and has started showing me whatshe wants the baby to get for xmas so she can play with them! Even when other children come ound they all want to play with the baby toys. Its just one of those things. Encourage your children to play together and it will help with both their development.

It's very normal. Don't worry about toys for his age group. He's just checking them out. Before you know it, he'll be back playing with his own toys.

does it matter if he is playing with baby toys? there probably what is around him. I'm sure he isn't going to be damaged by playing with the baby toys
