My daughter is 2 1/2 and all of a sudden she is extremely shy. She is not shy around other children, mainly extended family and friends. She is so shy, she now covers her eyes and buries her head in my chest until they leave. She is stuck to me or her dad like glue and will not look at them.
If they speak to her, she cries.

She has always been a happy child and it's odd to see her act this way. I am assuming part of it is probably her age.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? How did you deal?

Thanks.

Just a phase I was like that when I was a baby my brother was and all my cousins were too. Relax your baby is perfectly normal

she is very sensitive child bless her u have to handle her with more caution IE sensitivity don't force her to be the way u want perhaps a little older cousin should establish some sort of friendship with my daughter 7 is still this way around boys she was slow to speak or take instructions we took he to a psychologist at 4 years but was found normal
now she gives me instructions on how bad is smoking and i should quit once her mother was telling her some thing and she just said grown ups should also listen to kids because kids also have rights just be extra cautious so u don't hurt her feelings in any way

My daughter is going through the same thing right now. The worst is that the people who most care about her are the ones she's most shy around (I think because they are the ones who get in her space and try to get her attention).

I find that sometimes distracting her with a toy or snack, etc will work to help her forget about the "invaders."

She needs lots of love, alot of pacience, and the passage of alittle time...- & she'll grow out of it. :)
