I have a 13 month old daughter who is walking and running very well and everytime we go shopping she gets fed up after 15 mins or so and struggles to get out of the stroller she cries and thrashes around to get out so I get her out and carry her but then she squirms to get down. When I put her down to walk she always takes off running she wont walk with me and is to young to understand holding hands. When I try to pick her up again or gain some kind of control over the situation she throws a monster tantrum and the shopping trip is over. She used to love being in the stroller and shopping was great until she learnt how to walk i dread shopping and I cant go without a second person to help me with her. What can I do to improve our shopping trips and prevent any further behavioural problems in the future? And has anyone else had this problem with a child of such a young age?

My 3 year old cousin came home from his babysitter's house the other day and said "julie sex"

Julie is his babysitter. Before this he never knew the word and there's was never any reason for him to say that word. My aunt asked the babysitter and she said nothing went on and she never said that word to him. What do you think we should do?

My son took a toy away from the other boy and he came over and bit him on his cheek. It didn't break the skin, but you can see the teeth marks on my sons face! These guys are 4! Isn't this insane? I'm not MAD, they are only kids, but I mean, come on! Crazyness!

We have two toddler boys. We want to use our neighbor girl, and we want to know what is the proper pay. We have asked her and she says that we can pay her whatever we want to. I don't think she know how much to charge either.

They are females.
They were born 7 weeks early at 4lbs 3oz and 5lbs 4oz.
July 2006 they weighed 34 and 37 lbs.
October 2007 they weigh 30 and 33 lbs.
They wear big 18 months, and all 24 month clothing.

It would be one thing if they were just small, but kept growing...

But they have lost weight over 15 months...

They are not my children, but I care for them on weekends and they also have bruising and diaper rashes...and if you didn't notice by that sentence, they are still in diapers, and no where CLOSE to being potty trained...

IS THEIR WEIGHT LOSS OKAY???

It's something I NEVER EVER did! Not even for a "few minutes". My kids didn't even sit in a locked car when I ran in to pay for gas. I may have been "over the top" with this. How do others feel about this topic?

My daughter will be turning 7 weeks on saturday. For the past (almost) 2 weeks we have had a very hard stressful time with her. She has been having a hard time falling and staying asleep. She will sleep maybe 15 minutes then will wake up for about 3 hours, then fall asleep again for maybe 15-20 minutes, wake up again for another 3 hours. This is all day all night. When she is awake she is CRYING. She always seems hungary (we feed her every two hours, sometimes every hour). She seems like she is in pain( more likely gas pains), and she is still spitting up quite a bit.
We have tried almost everything from ...Grip Water, Mylacon, rubbing tummy, massaging back, patting back, putting her legs up to her tummy and putting pressure, bycicling her legs, putting chamomile tea in her milk, changing her formula to a hypoallergenic, adding cereal, rocking her, holding her close, turning on a fan, washer, dryer
sitting her up on the washer when it's on spin cycles
NOTHING IS WORKING.

My daughter has always been a pickey eater. When she tries new things she always gag and sometimes the food come up. The only thing she eat is chicken, pizza, steak, waffles, sausage, and some fruit. I have tried to get her to try new foods but she always gag. Well I have always been worried about what will she do when she start school. She just turned 4 years old and in June I enrolled her in pre school. When she started I told her that she only eat the foods I named above. They immediatly told me that all kids are like that and once she get around the other kids and see them eating, that she will also eat. I told them that I know this is not the case because I have tried that method before. Anyways now it is October, 4 months later and they cannot believe that she will not eat noting on her plate. So she goes all day at the day care with no food because they will not substitute if it is not for allergies. Do a day care supposed to let her just not eat. What should I do?

Hi, I would really appreciate some advice off others regarding my 18 month old sons daytime sleep. He usually has his daytime sleep from 1.30pm-3ish.I usually just put him in his cot and he goes to sleep by himelf, he might chatter and sing but usually goes off to sleep by himself. However for the last two weeks when I have put him down for his day time nap in his cot he has started to throw his quilt, dummy and teddy out of his cot and starts to cry to get up.I let him cry for around 10 minutes and then go up, lie him down, give him his blanket and dummy back and leave the room.Today for instance he cried for 1hour and 15 minutes before going to sleep. The strange thing is that he does seem tired and if he doesn't have a sleep he is horrible until bedtime. At nightime I put him to bed at 7.30pm and he goes to sleep around 8pm-7.00am.Do you think he doesnt need a daytime sleep?Do you think he is just seeing how far he can push me/testing the boundaries. What should I do.Thanks x

I have two nephews that live with me that are 3 and 4. Now i know that no two kids are alike but i am concerned about my three year old nephews speaking skills. I am not concerned about the 4 year old where as he speaks in full sentences. However my other nephew cannot pronounce words right now matter how many times we practice and for example he fell off his bike in the grass and when my husband asked him what happened he only could say " bike grass" which of course my husband couldnt really understand what he meant. Could there be something wrong or am i worrying over nothing?

He is very good at following commands and understands a lot we say to him. He tells us when he has poo'd and has sat on the potty a few times.

Should I just go for it and try to get him out of nappies now?

I don't want to hear any nonsense about 'it's to early' becuase personally I think seeing 3 year olds in nappies is just plain gross and laziness on the parents behalf.
