Put a child gate in his doorway then put him in his room when the tantrums start. Then take him out when he has calmed down.

Yes, they are terrible. The bigger issue you make of it the worse it will get. Just walk out of the room and ignore the child.

get on his level and talk to him very calm do you spank him?
