I think change is good for everyone...kids included. As long as it is done lovingly she should be fine. Get on the same page with Dad though because if one is not ok...kids pick up on that. Let her know she will make new friends and have fun ect...
Good luck

At age 3 it will not cause lasting harm to switch schools. More harm to grades and her ability to retain friends is if you continually switch schools during her grade, middle or high school years. Many people move during the middle of the school years at least once and their kids are just fine. If she does have a special friend from her current pre-school I would invite that child and her/his mom to your new home so they can play.

It depends on how far your moving. If it's going to add an extra 30 minutes or more of drive time, switching her is definitly worth it. I do see his point of stability though. Kids get attached to teachers and friends, so it will be an adjustment. Good luck.

I changed my daughter's preschool after conferring with my therapist. Changing schools (on a limited basis) is okay. It will be a precursor to them changing schools as they go to elementary, middle and then high school.

You're right.

We switched my little boy (he has a food allergy and the school wasn't paying attention) when he was 3. We told him he was going to big boy school and he said goodbye to all of his buds at his baby school. They are so little and are still "parallel playing" at this age. Next year you will see a huge difference in the way they play and the friendships that they form. :O)

Well, I think that you should look at pre-schools in your new area. If there is a happy and safe environment, then I don't see why not. You may want to talk to your daughter first though.
