My son has always thrown tantrums, however lately it seems like he's throwing them more and more. He just scream and cries and lays on the floor, sometimes it's because he's frustrated with a toy and sometimes it's for no reason at all. IE I tried to feed him breakfast this AM and he just screamed in his chair, so I took him out and he continued to scream another 15 min until I just layed him back in bed. Now he's sleeping again (I dont know how since he slept 730-730) Am I the only one experiencing this with their little one? Any advice? And please don't tell met ignore it...I already do that but that doesn't seem to be working.

We have a toddler bed for my daughter who is 14 months old. She hasn't used it yet, but I was just wondering at what ages did people start putting there children into toddler beds? I am also 4 months pregnant and I do not want to make my daughter feel like she has to move out of her crib for the new baby.

My one year old will not stop pushing the on/off button on the tv. There is no way to disguise the button and we put her in time out for it. I don't want her to ruin it. It's a very expensive big screen. Any suggestions?

His eyes look like they have a bluish tint underneath them like he's dehydrated or sick. But he's neither, it seems. He had a cold two weeks ago but this just started three days ago. He doesn't have a fever, and he seems totally fine (laughing, playing, lots of energy). What could it be? Does this ever happen to your kids? Should I take him to the doctor, even if he doesn't seem to feel badly?

I can't believe any doctor would prescribe drugs to babies...

The daycare has said that my daughter won't participate in activities, has a lot of trouble sitting still, and sometimes randomly hits others for no reason. They said she is behind the others in their learning program. Of course I dailey tell her no hitting, listen to your teacher etc. At night when we practice writing letters she slumps out of the chair, sings, anything except what I want her to concentrate on.I just keep trying even though I don't feel I'm getting anywhere. Is it normal for some 4 yr olds to have so much trouble sitting still? Are there any ideas on how to get her to focus? Would time-out work for when she won't sit still?

I have two daughters- 2 and 4 years old.

They each get a cup of milk with their breakfast in the morning and a cup of milk with dinner. They usually have a cup of juice with lunch and water the rest of the day.

Is this balanced? Should they have more millk? Less?

He keeps his diaper on. I wouldn't mind if he didn't pee everywhere where when he dose it. He is two year old but doesn't communicate enough to toilet train him. I have even tried having him where pajamas on him all the time and he still pulled it out. What can I do?

He thinks that he is in charge, he talks back to me, he has had several behavior reports from school, and even bite reports! When i spank him, he laughs at me and says that didn't hurt, when i put him in time-out, he keeps getting up and i keep putting him back and it lasts all evening! He is very energetic and puts up a huge fight, when i put him in his room, i have to stand there to keep the door closed, I feel like i am running out of options. He is not big on hitting me, but when he gets really angry, he tries to, it is mostly his attitude. He called his dad a B**** yesterday, so we put a bar of soap in his mouth. He slams doors when he doesn't get his way and i just do not think that this is normal behavior for a four year old! Anyone with any great discpline ideas that do not involve spanking or time-outs???

Ok, I need to vent. My 3 year old won't go on the potty! He will sit on it forever. He'll just sit and read his books. But, he'll only pee in his diaper. I know I could just leave the diaper off, but I really don't want that mess. Ugh. Anyone else with a troublesome 3 year old who won't potty train??

He has eight teeth through all the way, and nine and ten are half way through. I'm having a HORRIBLE time getting him to let me brush them. I manage to brush them three times a day, but OH LORD is it a fight! lol He clenches and bites and screams. I don't know what to do to make it easier for him. I've used finger brushes, manual and battery powered ones, different paste (kids paste, of course) everything...

I have a daughter and she really doesn't listen. I have to tell her to do things over and over again. She's about to be three this month and I don't like to whip her, but because i'm not whipping her she's starting to talk back. I take things away from her for being disobedient and I have a 4 month old also, that cant get whippings, so when i whip her she thinks i'm being mean and i like the baby better than her. Any Advice?

I'm trying to come up with a story to help a kid get over her fear of sleeping alone. By understanding those things that scare other kids, I can help put her fears into perspective.

Any input will be appreciated.

This started like 3 weeks ago out of no where he just start hitting people. Not real hard or anything just a hit. He is not hitting people with anything though just his hand. I personally don't think that he understands what he is doing. I tell him over and over .... That's a no no ... Don't do that .... That hurts .... Its not nice.... I have even spanked him on his hand for it and he will still turn and hit me back while crying himself? What do I do?

My kid 4.5 years, attending kindergarten from 8.30am - 2.30pm. They have a 15 mins break about 10nish.. which I usually provide either a banana or a pack of small bites like biscuits. Their lunch is from 12 noon - 12.30. My child is a rather slow eater. I usually pack 2 slices of bread, buttered and a slice of ham and cheese and just plain water.
I wonder how much is consider a healthy level (quantity) should a 4 years old child has for lunch?

it is a pharmacy tech position and is part time three days a week but in a month will go to more hours. the pay is only between $7 and $8. the pay will go up in 90 days but only in a small amount. my question is, i have two young children. i would be putting the youngest in daycare all day while i work and the oldest would go after school. after i pay for the childcare for both children i am not going to bring home much money if any after taxes. maybe $100 a week. maybe a little more when i start working a few more hours but still at the rate of pay times minus $150-$175 for childcare i don't think it would be worth me working and being away from the kids. my question to you is would you take the job? remember i have always been with my children so i love to be home with them so i wouldn't be taking the job to be away from them. also remember all the things i will have to do when my oldest is out of school on holidays. the job has no insurance.

I have a 6 and a half year old. I never close doors when i take a shower or bath and he comes in their and talks to me. He follows me around too when i am getting dressed. I never think nothing of it because he's not even staring at my body, just talking to me. But my husband freaks out about it and thinks it's inappropriate. What do you think?
