I would go ahead and try putting her in it now. Make a big deal out of it, and tell her shes a big girl, etc. Make sure it has the rails on it so she doesn't fall out, and it will make her feel more comfortable, shes used to a crib. Remember that she'll be able to get out on her own now and make sure she is safe with a baby gate, etc. I would definitely make sure she is in the toddler bed by the time the new baby arrives so she doesn't feel pushed aside. You could take her to get a new toy to sleep with her in her new bed, make her feel more secure, and now is the time to make sure you have a night light. When they began putting my niece in her toddler bed, she didn't wake her parents up but she slept on the couch for a few weeks, she would move there on her own in the middle of the night, lol. They put the light sensored night lights around their house (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) which helps if they get up to come to you in the night.

If you're thinking of switching to the toddler bed, I would suggest doing it now (5 months before new baby), so she doesn't link the new baby and the new bed together. She'll have plenty of time to get used to it. I think my girls were around 2 when I put them in toddler beds but they never tried to climb out of the crib or anything so there was no rush.

We put my son in a toddler bed when he was about 15 months old and he crawled out of his crib and came toddling into the living room. At 14 months old, she doesn't even realize there's a baby on the way, so don't worry about her feeling like she's moving to make room. Look for signs from her that she's ready (such as climbing on or crawling out of her crib). Set the bed up (if it's not already) to get her introduced to it. Make it a positive thing, don't make it feel like a punishment or anything, but as something that big girls do as they get older. Just be sure you take cues from her.

my son uses is toddler bed all the time he is now 18 months and started using it when he was 14months old. When he gets tired he will get in bed and cover himself. I put up a baby gate that swings open so if he does get up he doesnt have full run of the house. Another thing is that if the crib stays in the room she will always want to use it because that is what she is used to i would try to move it and see what kind of luck you have. And CONGRATS on the new lil one.

i think of it relies upon on the infants. i can't say i might positioned them in a new child mattress, the burden shrink on maximum in basic terms is going up severe adequate for a 4 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old so as which would be a waste of money. Is there room for 2 twin length beds? i'm able to inform you this. At age 2 a million/2 my oldest became slumbering in a loft sort mattress (like a bunk mattress devoid of the backside bunk, it has a citadel sort section below). he remains in it at 4 a million/2 and has by no ability as quickly as fallen out or had any issues in any respect. It does have a tent over the desirable of it so as that would help avert him from falling. yet, he would not flow in any respect while he sleeps; he's an extremely deep sleeper. I incredibly have an 18 month old and there is not any way he would be getting into that mattress until eventually on the brink of age 4 (a minimum of), he strikes around all night long. i think of it particularly is a huge component while pondering a bunk mattress for a youthful new child.

my kids moved out about 2yrs old but i did have one that was 18 mon cuz i was in the same situation as you. here's what you should do...you should put the bed up & get it all ready, tell her if she want's to sleep in it she can because she is almost a big sister, but when the baby comes we need the crib for the baby. stress the part about being a big sister, it will help her to want the big bed like mommy has. what ever you do don't start letting her sleep in your bed cuz that will cause a whole nother issue. good luck!

My daughter is 16 months and we got her a toddler bed when she was 15 months. She usually sleeps in it half of the night and she ends up in bed with us if she wakes up. We put her bed right beside ours so it makes her feel better. So far so good!

I think my daughter was about 18 months when she started sleeping in her "big girl bed" at night. For her naps though I started out by using a cot and constantly praising her for being such a big girl. I think I started that at about 15 months. She was so darn proud of herself that by 18 months she was ready and willing to sleep in a big girl bed and has done awesome ever since. I think the biggest thing is just praise the heck out of your little one because you want her know how proud you are and make sure she knows she can do it at her own pace, not because you need her to for the new baby. Good luck!

My son changed beds at 10 months old. I was always told when they start walking, or trying to climb out. I had to change him, cause the crib we had made me nervous. It was very old. He did great from the first night. If your daughter is walking, when you do decide to change her, put a gate in her doorway. This way she can't get out and get into anything. She'll have to hollar at you to come let her out. Plus she may be content to stay in her room and play for a while before waking you up.

I think that it may be too early to take her out of the crib. You have sometime before the new baby arrives, you could start out letting her take naps in her toddler bed and then she may make the change herself. Good Luck and Take Care!!!!
