It really helped my son to potty train standing up so he could see what was happening and connect the sensations. What worked for him is The Potty Stool http://www.thepottystool.com This stool makes every toilet kid-sized. The handles on this stool make all the difference. My kids potty trained quickly because they were so excited about this stool. They loved using the big toilet because that is what big kids use. I like that it is sturdy and safe and got them out of diapers fast. The best part is kids use it for years. Hope this helps.

My son is nearly three and we just tackled the pooping part of potty training. We did ditch the diapers and face the mess, and we also kept him naked from the waist down at home (he never once pooped on the floor). It may only take one or two messy pairs of underwear for him to figure it out - for us, it was a good tradeoff.
His preschool was eager to have him trained before he moved up to his new class, and we were eager since we're expecting a baby in December. I think the sticker charts and rewards just confused issues for us. We stopped pushing him, tossed all the pullups, and he almost immediately decided to poop in the potty.

My 3 year old refuses to poop in the potty. She will pee mostly just fine, but never poop. I just wanted to let you know you're not alone with a 3 year old. I'm just frustrated because most children potty train quite earlier (my other 2 did). I'm just interested in what to do at this age. I'm afraid of the bare bottom also, as I know she will probably hide and poop somewhere - yuck!

I've heard boys are harder to potty train, so I wish you luck. One thing you can try...get him some big boy undies. If he does pee in them it won't be as much of a mess, but he will feel that cold & wet sensation. Take your time before you get him cleaned up. Hopefully he will not like that feeling and he will be encouraged to go in the potty. Best of luck.

The best way I found to potty train a boy is to have a male role model around for him to watch if you have one let him take your son in the bathroom with him everytime he goes so he will know what to do hope my advice helps good luck

To clear up some misconceptions....Usually it is said that a girl is harder to train than a boy, and two..I believe that it all depends on the child.....
BUt in your case, with your son...Try putting cherios or fuit loops,Just a few mind you,,,and have him aim for the holes...or sink the floats..
This has worked very well with a few boys that I have had the pleasure of tending..Also, i have 13 neices and nephews as well as two step children...The youngest is three, and she is somthing else. it took almost a full year and ahalf to potty train her...We found it helpful with most children to give them a role model. tell your son how proud of him you are that is he being such a big man, and things like that, it works wonder with children...They strive for your acknowledge ment and praise....BEST OF LUCK...

My dogs had been come what may toward being 'expert', on newspaper, earlier than they went residence. From early days they could move slowly clear of the bedding to drain. You would not think the volume of newspaper we acquired by way of doing a clutter - for weeks earlier than they had been due, we would be scouring the neighbourhood for used paper however we regularly nearly ran out bty the time they went residence Actually even though I realise in which you're coming from, I'd advocate it could be an excessively infrequent breeder that could have the time to 'potty instruct' the dogs in a clutter. Especially if they'd a kennel filled with adults as good as their clutter(s). Obviously if a dog was once saved again till it was once older, so the breeder would come to a decision which one of the they might saved again was once the great, after which bought, it could have had the equal coaching as it is siblings. Otherwise I'd advocate no - after all as soon as any puppy is going to a brand new residence, it has to get used to the activities of his new proprietor, and in which he was once to 'empty'. So it could almost be useless. And side of the bonding approach entails the educational. I by no means had any court cases from my dog purchasers re residence-coaching. Add- Looking on the different solutions right here, both men and women have truthfully by no means DONE a clutter, or I have to were a particularly horrible breeder!! Most of mine went residence from eight - 10 weeks of age, and with a typical-sized clutter of Basset dogs and different adults (as much as part a dozen) there was once no approach I had time to remotely begin educating every man or woman dog approximately housetraining. Fact is they'd an eight X four whelping field, with newspaper down at one finish which they used once they were not external within the larger climate as they acquired older. My house owners got here and picked their dogs, with my aid, and rancid they went with their dogs - to begin the educational approach, housetraining and the relaxation, THEMSELVES. Those dogs we ran on, as soon as the others went residence, had been most likely began on their man or woman coaching. If we later made up our minds to uncover a residence for this type of (infrequent on the grounds that we regularly saved what we ran on regardless) then most likely that dog could were into housetraining, dressed in a collar and many others.and many others. Again, I had NO court cases from my house owners.

One of the customers in our place said their child just came up to them one day---guess the child was tired of doing in his pants----and said, "MOMMY, I HAVE to go potty!"
She said she nearly fainted.
