Okay, for the past year I have been a working mom. Now my husbands hours have changed, and I am trying the whole stay at home mom thing.
I need Ideas for activities.
She is 13 months. We don't have a yard., or park in walking distance.
I am ready to pull my hair out.

First of all take a deep breath, and realize that this is now your job and not a "thing". Get the "What to expect in the Toddler Years" book and see where she is developmentally. The easier thing to do is watch her, and plan activities accordingly. She is becoming her own little person, and she will show intrests in things as she grows. Going for a walk is also great for both of you. You don't always have to be "doing" something, just relax and enjoy your baby.

One of the benefits of being a stay at home is that you don't have to follow a schedule! We usually get up around 8, play for a bit. I make breakfast. After we eat, i take a shower and get dressed, then change Will out of his jammies. Then if there is any cleaning to do (laundry, dishwahser....I am not a hard core cleaner, just enough to get by!) I do that while either wearing Will in the sling or I get some toys for him to play with. After chores I play with Will and chase him around since h just started walking. Then we have lunch and he takes his nap from around 12-2. This is the time I use to relax. If I need to go out and do errands or anything, we go after his nap. If not, we just play the rest of the afternoon. My hubby gets home around 5 and I start on dinner. After we eat, we play some more, he has a bath around 7:30 and goes to bed around 8:30. We really don't go by a set schedule or routine, things just kind of work themselves out that way. Just give it some time and it will happen to you too!

Let her play in different areas of the house. When my 14 mos old gets tired of playing in the living room, we go to her room, or the dining/kitchen. Let her bang on the pots and pans. Slam the cabinets open and close. (Obviously there are some things that are dangerous but I assume you have already taken the necessary precautions) I don't know if most babies are like this or not but mine loves to be in her stroller for a walk around the block. Try to limit tv--we just watch Sesame Street. And of course--read to her. Dr Seuss's books are wonderful and they come in board books (mine still puts things in her mouth). Hope this helps.

Whatever your normal activities for the day is let her help you, and show and tell her what you are doing. play patty cake, teach her the alphabet, teach her how to count, show her how to use the potty, read to her, turn on the t.v and watch sesame street or sprout, or nick jr. together. If you have a vehicle, go for a ride to a relatives house, walk around the neighborhood and point out things like the birds, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the leaves.

Simple art projects such as finger painting, pudding painting, using chalk and markers...

You can also try cooking depending on how advanced the child is, let them mix, measure and pour the ingredients!

Active songs that you can sing and they can dance to, freeze dance using a cd player dance when they hear music, stop when the music stops.

Use a small indoor trampoline or a small slide can be brought inside the house!

Fill up a dish pan with sand or water and just let them play! there are so many things to do together!

Go for a walk. Color, draw, paint pictures. Watch cartoons together. Exercise together. Believe it or not when my son was that age he used to look at me like what is mommy doing? and I would incorporate him into my work out routine. Not only did it help me get fit, but I was spending time with my child too :)

Get out the sheets and blankets, and build a "tent" by using the kitchen/dining table, drage stuffies and pillows into it. (It also lends itself nicely to nap time since the child is intreguied by the prosepect of sleeping in their "tent") As far as walking put her in the stroller and walk for a couple of blocks, you don't have to go ANYWHERE children love a change of scenerey, even if it's just going around the block.

reading time, color time, sit down with her and copy every noise she makes, and then let her do the same with you. My son loves it. Play games with her, follow her around on the ground.... be at her level. Sing to her, have a dance time... both my 1 and 2 year old love that. Fill up some pots and pans with water in the drive way and let her make water drawings. Tickle times... do anything in your power to make her laugh as hard as she can.

there are lots of sites with simple crafts for babies and toddlers. see if the library has a storytime/craft program for children. ask your pediatrician if there's a Mommy and Me playgroup. talk to the mothers in the waiting room and see if they have ideas. put her in her stroller and go for a walk.
