My 18 month old clearly has a sore throat - he has difficulty swallowing and is suffering, poor little man :( Apart from Calpol which he is having four hourly, is there anything else I might have in the house at this ungodly hour that I could give him to help?

If you have any, a spoonful of honey helps - it's antibacterial too.

Throw the calpol away and go the chemist and buy medised. It does the same job but it also tires the little ones out helping them to sleep and then you get a sleep as well. Other than that just give him stuff like ice lollies, ice cream, water with icecubes. all a bit messy but if they help....

Just give time for the Calpol to work, it has anti pain properties. I suggest that you go see a doctor ASAP for they're right, your child might just have strepp throat. If left untreated it could lead to rheumatic heart disease God bless
