my son will be turning 18 months and he always uses a bottle for nap time and when he goes to bed at night. It is the only way he will sleep. I tried during the day to give him milk in a sippy cup but he refuses to drink it. He drinks Juice and water out of a sippy cup but not milk. I would like him to have his milk in a sippy cup and before he goes to bed. what do i do?? do i just let him cry in bed till he falls asleep without his milk??/

I know that this isn't the etiquette forum but I just wanted some parents opinions....

My son will be celebrating his 1st birthday next month and I would like to put gift suggestions on his invitations, ie. Elliot wears size 18 months and needs spring and summer clothes. Also, we'd prefer toys toys that encourage creativity and learning like blocks, puzzles and pretend household items....not in those exact words. Partially I am being selfish by trying to save money on clothes and I feel like he has enough toys already, but on the other hand I'm trying to nurture his creative side by suggesting toys that I feel would be beneficial. I just don't want him to have a ton of talking, battery operated toys, he got enough of those for Christmas. My sister does this on her invitations because in our family we are all about helping one another but just thinking about it, I can hear my in-laws talking about me. So, any suggestions?

my daughter woke up this morning wiht a couple blotchy rashes all over her body and on her face it looks like theres a welt mark. We have been fighting fleas due to our neighbor letting her cat out and our doors being drafty but they dont look like bites, i mean she has a couple bites but its more like a rash. The only thing i can think of that would cause it would be i made chicken with garlic powder last night, could that cause an alergic reaction?

Our 16 month old has all the symptons of a cold (coughing, ear infection, yellowish mucus). Yesterday, dr. prescribed antibiotics for the ear infection. Also, provided samples of Zyrtec...for congestion? Will this work? (if Zyrtec is for allergies). Her Daddy has allergies....but, not seeing the connection given the strong cold symtoms.

Anyone have experience giving Zyrtec to a toddler? Side effects? (irratability....please no....we've got enough w/ the cold symptoms themselves :0 )

Tx-in-advance.

Hi people is it normal for a 16 mths old who enjoy throwing things he could get hold of. Toys, water bottles, almost anything he can reach. And oso likes to open the wardrobe take out all the clothes and throw them all around. I try to scold and beat his hand, but he don't seem to be scared. Or is he just unable to control himself, what can i do to him

Would you be upset to find out that your child's teacher was working and had Strep? I know I would and as a daycare teacher find it odd that a boss would want you to work when you have strep!

I have horrible stretch marks on my stomach, sides, thighs, breasts, and the back side of my underarms. I used palmer's during pregnancy, but I got so big so fast that it didn't really help. Some of them are pretty deep as they stretched so far during pregnancy that they would bleed. I have tried dermatological things such as Retin-A, but it just caused my skin to peel. Any suggestions?

My third daughter does not sleep well at night. I thought that good sleep habits were a learned behaviour but they are not. She fusses a lot at night , I have just weaned her of drinking formula at night and that was a struggle. Still she will only sleep 8 hours of uninterupted sleep without a bottle of formula now and beleive that was an endevour. She will wake up after 8 hours and be awake for an hour then go back to sleep ...after drinking a bottle.
Is there something wrong with this?

I have posted questions on here regardig a nightmare three year old and have suggested going to a parenting clas with my other half to maybe improve how we are with him and if we can do better. The problem is, the three year old isnt mine but i am more of a dad to him than anyone has ever been and i just want the best for him and his mum. I have made a fe calls and one is starting shortly near us, but i have been told i shouldnt interfere and she has no need to go on the course whatsover. I tried to explain that she aint a bad mum but all of us can improve on something and its in the best interest of the little one if we can make lifebetter for him and us in the long run. She is still adamant she wont go and it has caused a bt of a row between us. Have I really done wrong here?

The mother of a 3yo just dropped off her son to my in-home daycare. She said "he just got over a 16 hour throw up session last night. I thought he was over the illness but I gave him pizza and obviously his stomach couldn't handle it. He said he's not hungry now but he will probably eat a lot today. And I don't think he's contageous anymore."

Ok, fine, but your son JUST got over (maybe not even yet??) a 16 hour vomit fest and you're bringing him to MY house less than 12 hours after he last vomited? I also keep a 19 month old, I have a 3yo and a 2yo of my own AND I'm 35 weeks pregnant. I don't want sick kids around me, my kids or the other boy I babysit. Even if he is over his sickness I don't know if it was food poisoning or something contageous. He seems fine and may be fine for the rest of the day. But if whatever he has is communicable we're probably all going to get eventually. These are kids, they breathe on each other, touch each other, share toys...What should I do?

My daughter is 3 yrs 4mo and very stubborn and defiant . She always wants things to happen the way she wants them. I don't allow that but it is a constant fight and sometimes I lose hope that the situation is going to get better. Is it just a phase? What age can I expect things to get better?

my daughter will be 4 soon, she was potty trained at 2. however we have been trying for bout a year now for her to stay dry at night. we started with pullups at night and when she started having dry ones we moved to undies with like hospital cloth pads to keep from changing the sheets. and we did good for a bit then she started wetting every night. so after about 2 weeks of no dries we went to pullups again and told her she had to try to keep them dry.(she gets UTI's from sleeping in wet pullups) so she does not like to wear them. i've tried putting a sticker on the calender for every dry morning..i've promised a gift if she can go a few day again. she willnot nap any more and hasn't from about 2 and a half years i don't think she gets enough sleep and at night she sleeps so heavy a marching band could go in her room. so i don't think its cause she can't hold it. i need some help any ideas on heavy sleepers...
