I have a very petite 3 year old and go through this with her everytime she gets a stomach virus. Give her several smaller nutritional meals and snacks through out the day. Even though her stomach may seem to be better to you, it might still be bothering her. Giving her more chances to eat during the day can increase her intake and help her regain her strenght and nourishment. Also, try pediasure. It provides all the essential nutrients she may not be getting while shes sick, and helps speed up the recovery. It's a little costly but it works.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Don't worry.

Her stomach is probably really senstative right now. To a toddler their body is working overtime to repair after the sickness. And, because that sickness was concentrated to her belly that's where the repair is going on. So, it makes sense she will have a sensative stomach for awhile.

Just offer her lots of nutrious things. Like chicken noodle soup, broth, crackers, fruit, dried fruits, and veggies. Let her eat what she wants. Maybe even some popsicles to lift her spirits. Ask her what she wants, but chances are she's just not feeling like a big heavy meal yet.

My son is 2 1/2 and has been sick twice last month. He lost 3 pounds from being sick. When he is hungry whatever I can get him to eat I let him eat no matter what it is and how much it is. At least he has eaten something. He has already gained back his weight since last month. I think as soon as she is feeling better completely she will gain it back. I wouldn't worry about shoving food down her. She'll gain back her weight. Remember plenty of fluids and try to give her frequent small meals or snacks throughout the day. Nothing big at once.

If she just got over a stomach bug, give her time...her appitite will come back.. Just make sure you give her plenty of fluids and keep feeding her the toast and fruit.

She probably lost 2 lbs from throwing up. But trust me, things will get better.

Good Luck!

As long as she is eating something, it's ok. Fluids are what's important. Push the fluids so she doesn't get dehydrated. Her appetite will return. Just let her nibble. Her tummy is probably still upset from the stomach bug.

It takes a bit to get back in balance. When one is sick, add charcoal. That will adsorb the toxins of the dead bacteria, and so hasten the cure. Do not rush to feed one who is (or recently has been) sick. It just feeds the bugs.

Just go with what she will eat and sneak some vitamins in her juice and water. Eventually she will come around, but right now just feed her anything she will go for and supplement it where possible.

These answers are great, but leave out one really good food - rice. My doctor told me to feed it to mine after stomach virus because it is "soothing to the gut." Good luck! It's really hard not to worry about our kids when they are thin!
