Have any of you went through this with your little ones, if so, what did you do to overcome... I'm desperate... I'm afraid if I make him go, he'll start hating school. And if I punish him for missing, he'll still hate school. I don't know what to do. Should I be worried? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks!

K.. I have this friend who has 2 kids, ages 3 and 1. They share a room, and they won't go to bed at night. Sometimes they keep her up until after 1 in the morning. I told her to just put them in their room and don't let them out, but her oldest will lay and bang on the door so much that he has almost broke it. He has other behavior problems, and doesn't listen to anything she says. The youngest is just following his brother. But she also will wake up with them in her bed. She's almost divorced, and she has full custody of the kids, so she is the only one that is taking care of them. She's at her wits end with their sleeping habits. She is pretty much ready to give up and just let them sleep where they fall. I don't know how to tell her that it's all about her parenting style, but how do I say that without making her feel like I'm accusing her of being a "bad mother"? I don't know what to tell her to help. Any suggestions?

I care for a 4 year old who is impossible to deal with most days. I do not spank him because the law forbids it. I sit him in timeout as all the specialist recommend. While there, he will get up continually, so I put him back. When I do, he hits, punches, spits on, pulls my hair , kicks me and calling vulgar names. I approached his Mother with this issue and all she said was " He must not like you for some reason" . He hits everyone including her when angry. He has a very explosive temper. I try explaining how it makes others feel and all he does is scream on top note " I don't care, you are mean" Any suggestions????

He has reflux so I'm slowly putting in more milk and less formula. But I have 4 cans of formula left but the doctor said to put him on milk now. How bad would it be if I gave him both?

She is 2 years old and I was told to put her on an iron suppliment vitamin. Well, she hates them. So I was wondering, does anyone know of any iron rich foods that would help? She will eat just about anything.(except vitamins of course). Thanx in advance.

I have a 5-yr old son and a baby on the way. My concern is with my husband. He doesn't seem to be very concerned with disciplining/educating/raising our son and I think I must be crazy to have another child. My husband works long hours-16 or so a day. I know he must be tired, but we still have a family to take care of. He never really had much of a father himself, and I think he thinks children more or less raise themselves. My dilemma is that I want him to take more interest in teaching or son right from wrong. I feel like I'm having to do it all-and starting to resent it.
An example of his behavior would be this:
We were in a restaurant for lunch and our son was acting up. I asked him to take him to the bathroom and get him under control. He ignored me-and the behavior of our son-until I finally had to do it myself. This is typical of his behavior toward our son, and I don't know how to get him on board.
How do I get him to help me?

She also said that if she refuses to put him in day care for 3 months that she the mom will have to pay from the government from her pocket those 3 months and then pay additional for me the babysitter. He is not happy there scince he has gotten used to being around me and he would have so much fun. Can she denie that help if so will it affect her other help such as food stamps and medicare and such. What can we do about it is there away around that. Please help I already miss him so much......

Maybe we do't ask kids that question enough. Maybe a teacher in the first few months of every year, in every grade, when trust is high could talk to their kids they are so invested in and let them know it's okay to tell.

My boyfriend is 31 and still living at home with momma. We have been going out for almost 3yrs., he stays home all the time. Never comes over. When he is sick or hurt...who takes care of him? Huh need not ask, MOMMA. He recently feel and broke his arm, when his mother arrived, I was told to get out of the ambulance and let her ride, no he didn't stand up for me. The other day when he had his doctor appt. she took off work to take him, I did too thinking I would be the one, I was instead asked to ride along with them...NOT. I passed. He has even missed a Valentines Day to go spend it watching Nascar with his family instead. I have two kids and He Never does anything with us. He acts like a big ol' baby about everthing. My daughter poked him in the eye one time and he held it and nursed it for a intire day and night, no blood spot was there either. I could go on forever. But you all would really be questioning my inteligance. My Question is " Do Momma's Boys EVER GROW UP?????? Is there anyone out there that has seen the miracle of a mommas boy getting off the nip?

eating right now. For the past two weeks he has become very picky and won't eat a lot now. I do mix up his foods and i won't give him the same thing in a three day period. Unless its his favorite. One day he will eat breakfast, lunch, dinner the next he will only eat like two bites of something for breakfast, not eat lunch then pick at dinner. I try and make him more than one thing to see if it is the food he doesn't want but it isn't, he just won't eat. I have talked to the doctor and she said don't worry about it. Well for the past three days he has had very bad diahrea and still not eating alot. I mean he eats more than one day then the next barely anything. I called the doc again but she acts like i'm stupid and tells me he is fine. He doesn't have a fever, he isn't teething right now that i can see, but i do give him teething tablets just in case. So I don't know what else to do anyone with the same problem or had this problem. My doc just says to night fight him and let it go......

I was just holding the 2 1/2 year old granddaughter that I have been raising since birth. And as I sat there in my old jeans and a shirt with bleach stains on it, she looked at me and said " Your beautiful Nana." I am a mess from scrubbing and cleaning the house all day. Plus I was up half the night with her because she is ill. But now I don't feel so tired and I don't feel like I look to awfully bad.

Who says we can't learn from our children?

Does it get any better than that?
