I was just holding the 2 1/2 year old granddaughter that I have been raising since birth. And as I sat there in my old jeans and a shirt with bleach stains on it, she looked at me and said " Your beautiful Nana." I am a mess from scrubbing and cleaning the house all day. Plus I was up half the night with her because she is ill. But now I don't feel so tired and I don't feel like I look to awfully bad.

Who says we can't learn from our children?

Does it get any better than that?

If only we can have a childs heart...it would be a better world.

May God Bless you & give you strength to continue raising her.

It certainly does not get any better.

My niece was at my house last year with her parents and she fell asleep in my lap (she is 7) and I just looked up at her daddy and said "Isn't this the best part of having kids?" He rolled his eyes and said "Just wait. There will come a day when you see your kid coming at you and you will dread it." I just about cried right then. Ever since then, I have given extra hugs and love to my niece.

Your granddaughter sounds like an angel-thank goodness she has you!

Nup!!!
My parents always say that if they'd known how great grandkids would be, they would have had them first!!!!

My 2 1/2 yo son is always giving us hugs and kisses. I wouldn't trade those sloppy kisses and little arms around my neck for anything.

We're trying to teach him the difference between boys and girls at the moment, and when you ask him if he's a boy or a girl, his reply is always "no, I'm just Mummy's precious boy". ohhhh!!!

Nope, I don't think it does. I have a 2 1/2 year old son. He can always make me feel better when I'm feeling down!

Being a grandparent has completed my life. I know exactly how you are feeling at this moment. In her eyes, you are beautiful and no one loves her more than you. You are the luckiest person in the world.

Savor every moment of that child's life because it will go by too quickly. Never forget this moment. Whenever you feel like getting angry at her, just think of this so your heart will melt all over again.
