I know how frustrating that can be. Make sure she is taking her vitamins, drinking plenty of water, and when I notice my son is starting to get sick I give him Childrens Airborne which almost allways helps----Good Luck!!

Well, first you need to really take care of yourself. Eat your veggies and fruit, have some meat or protein, and eat whole grains. And be sure you re-hydrate yourself with lots of water. I also have a poor immune system. If I can stay away from sugar, I find that helps. (-: But as soon as I start catching a cold, I want the sweet stuff. I also found nasal cleansing to be a big benefit -- just suck up a little water in your nose, then blow it out. Repeat until the water is clean. Don't drown yourself! Just do it gently. Also, getting some exercise in every day is really important -- your body needs the blood and lymph to be pumping around. You should get up and stretch every hour. Ginger, garlic, and hot lemonade are also three things that seem to help me keep in balance. And of course, get enough sleep. Good luck!

I believe the best thing you can do for a child with a low immune system is to give them vitamins.
My daughter is six years old and had a very sickly first 5 years. Seemed like she was sick every week. I started giving her the Flinstone vitamins and making her eat more healthy foods such as fruits and veggies. I know it's hard with the veggies on one so young, but perhaps you might find some that they like.
I would also consider taking her to the doctor; although I'm sure you've already done that, but they may have more options for you.
I would try the vitamins though. I honestly think it helped build her immune system.

Believe it or not, diets high in sugar lowers the immunity. Cut the sugar out (at least for the time being) and provide a well balanced diet rich in vitamin c.
Also encourage proper handwashing techniques.
My daughter has been going through the same thing ever since starting kindergarten this year. Her doctor said that it's just because she is being exposed to a whole new set of germs.
Good Luck!

There are a few ways to permantly help improve how frequently she gets sick. You could get an air filter. Air filters help the immune system by clearing unseen debree and bacteria from the air. Indoor air is actually said to be 10 times more polluted than outside air. something to think about. Secondly you could opt for alternative medicine. There are many natural substances that are immune system boosters!.

Besides the obvious, like taking vitamins, make sure she is in a good habit of washing her hands, not putting hands in her mouth. Buy the little versions of hand sanitizer that she can keep in her pocket. Getting sick is a normal part of building your immunity, but if you think its outside the realm of being "normal" than talk to her Dr. about running some tests to see if there is something else going on.

An apple a day.... organic apples are the safest to eat whole(skin and all) if washed properly.Otherwise discard the skin.Get your kid use to fresh food in such a way that they allways want it. This may take some creative presentation but it's well worth it. Keep a bountiful supply in reach at all times and always take from it to satisefy your hunger in a positive way. Educate her to the many fruits and vegy's available at the store and allow her to make a friut bowl of her own. Thank her for her choices as you all take joy in this garden of Eden.

Maybe she did not get the right type of vitamins.
I feed my son this vitamin called VPlus since I was pregnant. He is now 19 mths old and has never fallen sick before.
I myself have not seen a doctor for 5 years (other than my gynae for check ups) since i started on it.
A friend's son who was also very sickly like your girl (sick once a month) also got his children started on it and they have since stopped visiting the doctor since they started on it two years ago.
VPlus has many benefits and they include:
- providing all the nutrients that our children need
- raising immunity
- helping them develop stronger muscles
- giving them more brain power to make them smarter
Would you be interested to find out more about VPlus. If you would like to know more, you can email me at verityy@yahoo.com

Make sure that she is getting a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.
Talk to her pediatrician about giving her vitamins that are age appropriate.
Also, make sure that she is washing her hands well constantly. Help her sing the ABC's while she rubs her hands with soap and water to make sure that she is cleaning them well.
Other than those things, maybe check with the doctor to do some blood work to make sure that her white count is normal.
Good luck!
