my daughter woke up this morning wiht a couple blotchy rashes all over her body and on her face it looks like theres a welt mark. We have been fighting fleas due to our neighbor letting her cat out and our doors being drafty but they dont look like bites, i mean she has a couple bites but its more like a rash. The only thing i can think of that would cause it would be i made chicken with garlic powder last night, could that cause an alergic reaction?

i dont think its caused from the bites, she has had bites before, also she isnt sick or anything, all is well shes playing and doing her normal stuff. As for fumigating, ya its easier said then done, i have alota toys and such that wouldneed to be covered plus its below 0 outside and i cant leave the heat off while its being done and i have plastic on the windows and opening them to clear out the fumes would cause my pipes to freeze, its a super old house.

My daughter is allergic to penicillin and broke out in a rash after having it. Has she been itching? Hives usually itch like crazy. My daughter's rash looked blotchy and then when she scratched it, it turned into welts.
The links below are to my Photobucket account. The first two are pictures of the rash, and the others after she scratched and it turned to welts.
Call the Dr. to be on the safe side!

Has your daughter had chicken before? What about garlic powder? If so, it's probably not a reaction to them. If the rash doesn't go away during the first day, I would take her to the doctor. It does sound like it could be Fifths disease if the mark on her face looks like she's been slapped.

It never hurts to call the pediatrician when you are dealing with a rash. Rashes can be from so many things.
My daughter use to break out with hives when she was little from playing on the floor or if we would buy a different detergent or fabric softener. They were little red spots that would go away within like 20 minutes then they would show up somewhere else. I would at least call her doctor, talk to a nurse, and see what they say!
Good luck.

I would take to Dr and see what they think. My son had the same type of thing, and it was eczema, (but could be allergic). They prescribed a cream and it clears it up in a day or two.
About your fleas, we just got done fighting them, and neither of our cats goes outside. We did the bomb, but it didn't work. I went to the local elevator, and got some dairy barn spray. You have to leave the house awhile for it to settle, try to put toys up. ( I only sprayed the floor, not up in the air.) Then I vacuumed really good. It really stinks, but they use it in dairy barns, so it isn't toxic. Just a hint though, if you have a cat and a litter box, take the litter box and cat out of house. I was told the spray and certain litter counteracts and can combust.
Good luck with both!!

Do her cheeks look like someone's slapped her? Look closely at the blotches - are they kind of lacy-looking or net-like? If the answer to both of these is yes, then she has a virus called Fifth's Disease - it's harmless, and by the time she gets the rash, she's not contagious anymore.
It's worth taking her to the doctor to look at the rash - they're hard to diagnose without seeing.

You need to take her to see a doctor ... from your description, she has 'hives' ... they are an 'allergic reaction' to something she's touched or eaten recently, but she still needs to be seen by a doctor because she is 'too young' to give any of the 'medicines' to help the hives and make them stop itching without the doctor's approval.

I'd go to the dr. My son just had a rash that gradually got worse... turned out it was exzema and he needed a cream for it.
