my nephew goes to a daycare where a boy scratches and bites the other children and my nephew is mostly the victim of these attacks. is the daycare responsible for doing something about this behaviour or is it the parents at home that are responsible?

ps. the daycare has taken no actions to prevent this activity and they just send my nephew home when this happens. the other kid gets to stay at the daycare.

My one year old has recently started screaming at the top of his lungs all day long. I want to rip my hair out! I don't know what to do... He points at what he wants but he can't have everything he wants. His one year molars are coming in. And i know that could be a sorce of discomfort but no meds. have worked and can it really last all day? How much longer will it last if it's just a phase? A long with that his behavior has been terrible... he throws things, And when you tell him NO and try to redirect him he thinks it's a game, even when your being as stern as possible. He is very defiant. Has anyone had a problem like this? PLEASE HELP. I don't know what to do!!!

My son needs to take something with the letter "i" for show and tell , we searched his toy room and can not find anything with that letter. Does anyone know what starts with that, maybe we can go to the dollar store and find something cheap with that letter.

I recently joined a gym with a daycare on site. I have been trying to
go, but my son wo is 17 months will not do the daycare.
The first day I took him they had to come and get me because they
couldn't get him to calm down. The second time he cried the whole half
an hour it took me to tan. I thought if I just do little bits at a time, it would get him used to it easier.
Then today I attempted once more, and didn't even make it past the
double doors before the tears and the clinging started! I just left,
after not being able to calm him down. They girls in there are nice
but very young, they say just to leave him and let him cry it out, but
I can't bring myself to do that!
Any advice would be helpful, I've already paid in advance so I've
got to figure out something!!

My 18 mo old always hits when he's angry (and even when he's not angry). He hits everyone (i.e., mother/father, grandparents, daycare provider, other children, etc). It's very frustrating. I'm drawing a blank on how to treat this situation. I don't hit him back, because I believe that just continues the cycle of hitting and I don't want to raise my voice with him at every occurance. Any helpful hints?

He is 3 and a half. He talks back and whines when asked to do anything, or says 'I can't'. He can't seem to make decisions about anything. I've tried speaking to him quietly and yelling, bribing and punishing, the timeout thing doesn't work anymore. I'm nearly at my wits end. Has anyone experienced something similar?

brushing my (19 mo) daughters teeth is such a struggle and she always ends up crying, if I let her do it herself she brushes her tongue for a couple seconds then starts playing with it like a paint brush. Any ideas???

OK, my son is now 20.5 months old. Honestly, he is one of the best, happiest, easy to care for, children on the planet. However, lately he has become a little devil! He whines, gets upset at the littlest of things, wants everything done on his schedule, has ZERO tolerance, etc.

Is this the start of the "terrible two's" I hear so much about? If so, what do each of you do to handle it? Some people say ignore it-believe me, that is hard to do! Any thoughts, suggestions, advice?

My 3 year old hates his new daycare. We just recently switch daycares and my son is terrified to go into the daycare. I'm starting to wonder what really goes on at the daycare. I've popped in and haven't witnessed anything and hes too young to tell me what goes on. What are some good ways I can find out?

Hi all I need help with healthy meals for my 1 year old daughter. I am running out of ideas as what to give her for healthy lunches and suppers. She eats extremely well, but I think she might be getting tired of the same old stuff. For lunch she usually gets chicken pieces ( not fried ) and cheese. Supper she usually eats red meat and veggies. I don't know if I shuld begiving her the foods that we eat because lately we have been eating salad and easy to cook foods that I don;t think are apprioprate for her.
She likes yogurts and fruits, but what else can we feed her that is easy to make and cheaper.
Thanks for your help in advance

The daycare I work at release the director in November and promoted me to daycare director. Our center enrolls 3-12 year olds. My question is to all the parents out there, what do you look for when you go to a center? What would you like to see happen in your child care center that you do not see? What makes you want to enroll in a child care center? Thanks for your answers.

I got it figured out. My children listen on the first time to any command I give them (They are two). I don't even have to raise my voice!

Here's what I do, I tell them to do/not do something. If they listen, wonderful, I praise them! If they don't do what I asked, I have a switch in my back pocket, and a quick little sting on the butt gets through to them REAL fast that Mommy is serious! I also get down on their level, hug, comfort and love on them, but reiterate where they went wrong.

You'd be amazed at how well my kids listen on the first time now!

My 2 1/2 yr. old won't stay out of other peoples rooms and always goes in the linen closet . She gets into everything. Yes we have child proof looks on the doors but she's a smart kid and knows how to take them off. We have tryed everything we can think of . She's been denied things , put in time out, a good talking to, made her clean the mess , but she still does it. Her latest was she climbed the shelf of the linen closet and got a brand new tube of tooth paste and used it as paint all over the walls and rug. Please someone have any ideas of what to do. (No we don't and won't spank her for it.) We do watch her closely but she always seems to do it while I'm taking care of the 6 month old baby.

I am planning on heading to the coast this weekend to do some camping and clamming with my hubby, 18 month old son and our dog. I had flu-like symptoms on Tuesday that has since developed into a cold. My son got a flu shot on Saturday and has thrown up now twice once Tue and Wed. He seems to be a bit better, just clingy and sleepy. The weather is supposed to be mid 50's some chance of showers and 40s in the evening. We have tarps and can build a fire and layer to keep warm, but I'm worried that my son or myself might end up sicker. But then everyone says it's not the weather that makes you sick... Any thoughts? And anyone else experience the flu after a flu shot?

Well, my son is 2 1/2 and for the past year or so he has slept from about 8pm to 6 or 7am and the also naps from noon until 3 or 4pm. When he slept like that he seemed happy and rested.

Now for the past week he cant fall asleep until almost 10pm and also doesnt nap well, barely 2 hours instead of the usual 3-4 hours.
He is whiney and has red rings under his eyes so I know he is tired. What causes this and what can I do to help him sleep?

We had no changes in routine, no stress or anything else come up.Everything is like always.

Any advise is greatly appreciated!
