The daycare I work at release the director in November and promoted me to daycare director. Our center enrolls 3-12 year olds. My question is to all the parents out there, what do you look for when you go to a center? What would you like to see happen in your child care center that you do not see? What makes you want to enroll in a child care center? Thanks for your answers.

NO TV's allowed
A plan that you stick with
The same teachers in the afternoon that are there in the morning.
A neat clean place.
I look for a place that doesn't have dirty kids from playing out side or kidos that have snot running down there face.
I don't ever want to come to pick up my child and find the teachers off talking to one another in the corner and no one watching the kids.
Good luck with your new job I know it's a hard one!!

Of course, good quality care with individualized attention is important in any child care setting. But what REALLY would make me smile is if there would be a strict regimen of disinfecting! Walking into a place that the kids were not crying and wiping their noses with their hands.... a place that does not smell like dirty diapers... and caregivers that were truly concerned about the spread of germs with a big emphasis on handwashing!
