I have a 21 month old boy and a 9 month old boy. My 21 month boy is still on the bottle. I never got him off of the bottle before his brother was born. I know that I should have so I guess all I can do is make excuses for my self on why I didnt. But the point is he is still on the bottle. I need to know how I can get him off of the bottle I have tried just taking it from him and that doesnt work because he just takes his brothers bottle so does any one out there have any ideas I am up to anything right now. The other question that I have is should I wait to take him off of the bottle when I take his brother off the bottle please help I am desperate at this point any ideas would be great thanks in advance.

I know toddlers are picky about food but I'm starting to get worried. She will not eat mac n cheese, spaggetti, she used to like cold cuts and now won't eat those. She will not eat the Gerber toddler soups. The only thing she seems to like is Earths Best Soups, pureed lentils with chicken broth and chicken broccoli cheese nuggets, fruit and whole wheat toast, literally that is it. How can I get her to try other foods?

My 2 year old gets into everything as a normal 2 year old does. He knows when hes doing something hes not supposed to but doesn't understand when we try to make him have a timeout like sitting on his bed for a few minutes. He thinks its a game and we definitely do not try to make it one. I know he's little but he also has a bit of early ADHD and we were told to start correcting him early or else he may never understand or he will get too out of control. How can we accomplish this?

I need some advice. I am debating on leaving my 2 year old with her aunt who is 12. Grandma will be there as well as her on and off boyfriend and his daughter who is 13. But, the 13 year old has made mention that she doesn't like me, don't know why, don't care really. What bothers me is the 13 year old has said that one of my children should die (I have 3) because I have to many. Should I be concerned? Should I leave my 2 year old with her aunt when the 13 year old is there? or am I just overreacting? (When this 13 year old has misbehaved or said something distrubing she was just told to be quiet.)

I have two boys; a four and a three year-old. On ocassions I have dressed them the same, similar clothes but different colors each one.
Am I doing wrong?? They just look so cute, I really see no problem, because I'm their mother and I'm always gonna think they look cute the way I dressed them, but does it look bad, that I'm dressing them the same???? Please no negative responses, Thank you!!!

My baby is 13months old and just recently she has been having trouble sleeping. She has always been a really good sleeper, going from half 7 through til 8ish, but since her 1st birthday she keeps waking up every few hours crying. I have tried everything I can think of, I keep ignoring her for as long as I can possibly stand (usually 15mins tops) then I go into her room and tell her its bed time while lying her back down but she has massive screaming fits where she kicks and throws her head back whenever i do this, its like she is petrified to be in her own room. It really scares me to see her acting like this and I really dont know what I can do to help her. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have four children: ages 10,8,2, and 14 mos. I rocked all of them to sleep at night and sometimes at naptime. I keep reading that you shouldn't rock them to sleep b/c then they don't learn to self-soothe, but I enjoy my time w/ them. Cuddling and rocking. I rock my 14 month old to bed every night & sometimes I still rock my 2 yr old. I am a SAHM, so I am the one who suffers the consequences if they want to be rocked not a daycare provider. What do you think???

My son is very non social and is very clingy to me. His teachers are concerned that the problem is at home. He only does this when he's at school, he doesnt want me to leave. I dont know what I am supposed to do. Honestly I will tell you I am an average mom I let my child know i love him and I play with him when time allows. He is an only child and his dad and pay attention to him as much as possible. He is spoiled in the toys area, but its not like we overly pay attention to him. We are an average family. What can I do to help him, and help us. He plays with the other kids at the babysitters, she doesnt complain of these problems at all. Maybe hes so used to getting to do what he wants, do you think that could be the problem? I dont know what to do, please help!

He 2 1/2 and hates to have his haircut. He cries and screams and we just have to hold him still. We've tried everything from distracting him with his favorite toys to offering m&m's to bribing him with a trip to the store to buy a new toy if he is good during the haircut. The girl who cuts it tried once to let him sit and watch cartoons while she cut it, but that didn't work either. Any ideas? It's exhausting for all of us!!

every night the past week from a deep sleep crying. When we ask him why he's crying he won't answer. Last night I fell asleep in his bed and at 11pm, he started to whimper and cry out. So I woke up and actually watched him, he was asleep and started to toss and turn and was crying in his sleep. He did not actually wake up until I started to hug him and ask him why he was crying. And once again, he would not answer. We asked him yesterday afternoon why he woke up the night before crying and he said he had a bad dream. This morning we asked him why he woke up crying and he said "no reason".

Do you think this is normal or is there something causing mental anguish at this age? It scares me to death to think the latter.

I am potty training my almost 3 yr old son. We have the peeing standing up down. I take him in the bathroom every hour. When he tells me he has to go poop we go and I sit him on the potty and he goes.
My question is when he is going poop how do we do it so he doesnt pee on everything. We cant go pee first because he usually tells me at the last minute. I dont want him to feel like he didnt do well since he ends up peeing on his pants and lap.

They have those toilet seats that have that cover on it but he doesnt like that. Any other ideas?
Please no rude answers. Thanks!

...when monsters are REAL! That would be a lie if we were to say there were no monsters.

Unless the child believes in an animal-like scary monster, there is not much we can say. Right?

There was this one child who said that Neil Thatchet was living in his closet!

That scared the #$%^ out of me!

Note: Neil Thatchet is an infamous serial child killer/ molester in our local area. A real monster.

We took 4 kids aged 5 ,4, 3, and 6 months into respite foster care last weekend. There is a good possiblity that they will come available for adoption at some point in the future and my husband and I are considering trying to get them. None of them are in school yet. The two oldest especially have very ethnic names. The three year old has a sort-of common name with a different spelling and the baby has a cute sounding name. Many people I know with ethnic/off the wall (different is good. I'm talking about what other children could percieve as weird) are low achievers and/or in trouble with the law. I also substitute teach, so I see children at their worst, and they can be cruel. I don't want to totally take away their herritage by changing their names; I want to add an American name so they have options: with school and with resumes in the future. Why is this wrong? Isn't it my duty as a parent to act in the best interest of the chid(ren)?

My boyfriend's son is 3 and a half and he has a really amazing photographic memory and a lot of energy but some problems focusing... we are worried he might have the beginnings of ADD... I thought martial arts would be a great way to increase his focus and teach him some discipline... is he too young to start?
