Compromise. If eating a banana prevents him from eating supper, give him half a banana- or give him banana slices WITH supper. Say, 'One bite of banana, then one bite of meat."

Obviously fruit is wonderful for all of us but there are nutrients we need from other food. If you let him eat fruit instead occasionally, it shouldn't harm him. My kids (2&4) and I sometimes hv fruit salads for lunch or dinner.Just make sure the next meal is high in nutrients. Consider putting him on vitaminsjust to be sure. As your surely aware of, this latest food jag of his will probably not last for too long. He may just be hungry b4 meal time...he's still at an age where snacks are pretty much needed between meals.

Good luck!

I would definitely wait until 4 months, at the very minimum, before introducing anything beyond the cereal that you've already given her. Also, if she's constipated, then I would cut way back on the amount of cereal she's getting. At this point, the formula is all she really needs. You MIL is probably going to have a lot of "advice" for you over the course of your baby's life. Trust yourself and your doctor for what to do and when to do it, as far as your baby is concerned. Your MIL raised her children a long time ago and a lot of things and ideas have changed since then, so she isn't going to always be right about what she thinks is best. It's your baby so you do what you think is right period.

My two-year-old is going through the same thing. It's just trial and error right now. Tell him if he eats a bite of something else (meat, potatoes whatever you're serving) that he can have a bit of fruit. It's hard, but keep in there!
