Potty Train - boy - another question?

Question

I am potty training my almost 3 yr old son. We have the peeing standing up down. I take him in the bathroom every hour. When he tells me he has to go poop we go and I sit him on the potty and he goes.
My question is when he is going poop how do we do it so he doesnt pee on everything. We cant go pee first because he usually tells me at the last minute. I dont want him to feel like he didnt do well since he ends up peeing on his pants and lap.

They have those toilet seats that have that cover on it but he doesnt like that. Any other ideas?

With both of my boys I encouraged them to push their penis down while peeing because they both peed out the front of the toilet. I had them sit as far back as possible and spread their legs and push it down toward the water, it worked for them. I would also take his pants off just one leg so he can spread his legs far enough. I had this same problem. I didnt use potty seats. If he will sit on the regular toilet let him. I sit them back as far as they can with out stretching his legs to far but far enough so hes stable. Then he can pee and poop without you worrying about him spraying on the floor. Stay positive. Im training my 2 year old now. Boys are hard work. Just keep praising and stay poisitive.

Some boys has being trained to sit down to pee,( my husband and son are both this way) so they don't get the toilet seat dirty. I guess I'm a lazy mom, too lazy to train my boy to stand up to pee. If you like my method, all you need to do its to tell him to press down on his weewee himself when he sit.
