Around a year.... it wasn't safe after that... I just started putting the baby gate up in his doorway and let him play in his room on the floor while I did a quick pick up of the house.... Also after he was a year old, he didn't take naps, or sleep in it at night anymore (he used it like that at nana and grandpas, not at home) because he was too big and it was too umcomfortable for him..

We never used the playpen much unless I was in the washroom or shower. Our boy was out of his playpen as soon as he was able to pull himself up to a standing position (about 5 months). He figured out real quick if he piled his toys in the corner he could climb up. So we took the toys out and then he started to try to kick through the mesh on the sides. We kinda figured out he didn't like it in there so we put it away and used it to hold the Xmas tree that year.

My son and daughter were both just a bit over a year old when my ornery little sister taught them climb out.. Once they could climb out I put the playpen away for fear they would hurt themselves

We had one, but it was only used for naps on outings or stays at grandparents house's. My son felt way to confined when he started crawling at just under 6 months & would scream when put in it. So I'd say it stopped completely at 6 months

9 months. She would climb to the top and throw herself over the side. Only used it a few times anyways. So I got rid of it. Took her from the crib also, and got her a toddler bed.
