I am planning on heading to the coast this weekend to do some camping and clamming with my hubby, 18 month old son and our dog. I had flu-like symptoms on Tuesday that has since developed into a cold. My son got a flu shot on Saturday and has thrown up now twice once Tue and Wed. He seems to be a bit better, just clingy and sleepy. The weather is supposed to be mid 50's some chance of showers and 40s in the evening. We have tarps and can build a fire and layer to keep warm, but I'm worried that my son or myself might end up sicker. But then everyone says it's not the weather that makes you sick... Any thoughts? And anyone else experience the flu after a flu shot?

I can't postpone until next week if we don't go this weekend it won't be until the spring. Which may not be the end of the world. claaming is also limited to specific weekends through the winter which was the other reason we were going this weekend.

My son has gone camping as well even before he was walking.

Well, the question is....how much of this outing is everyone going to really enjoy if both you and your child are sick? Personally, I wouldn't go. I'd have to postpone until spring. Sometimes you just need to prioritize.

individually, i might stay living house and shelter my 18 month previous toddler until eventually the factors is warmer and he's feeling extra advantageous. You dont desire what could be in easy terms an basic chilly to finally end up as pneumonia with the help of exposing him to 40 degree nights outdoors. Or while you're definately going to bypass, how approximately letting the little guy stay with a grandparent or uncle/aunt once you're out. If he's ill, he will in easy terms make the holiday depressing for each individual in touch.

You can still get the flu after a flu shot because your flu shot only protects you from one strain of flu. (It's the most "popular" one so it's still worth getting!) As for the weather, it's true that you don't get sick from the weather but you can get MORE sick from the weather! Your body needs warmth and rest when you are sick so it's advisable that you just stay in your comfy home and take it easy. Obviously, it's your call but you can prolong your flu by being in the cold.

Why not consider postponing the camping trip until next weekend. That will give you and your son time to get better.

It's not the weather that makes you sick, but it can aid in making your sickness worse. You don't need to take that baby in the cold and rain. postpone the trip. geez.

GO! Have fun...I would not go if either on eof you are throwing up because that would just be a huge bummer! If not go on and have fun!
