ok so here is the story. My son who is now 3 1/2 is being very stubborn with training. I started last summer(when he was still 2) and everything was going good, then my niece was born and ever since he just is not interested in being trained. He goes pp perfectly he just wont poop in the toilet. At first i thought well he will just have to take his time and eventuall get it but he has been going pp in the toilet since august last year. I have tried lots of techniques. I gave him a small potty chair and had him sit on it periodically all evening, but still nothing. As soon as i took him off and got him dressed, he pooped in his underwear. So then i tried making him change himself when he did it, which only back fired. I though he would be grossed out and then wouldnt want to do that anymore. He would go change himself and come back in and say tada i did it arent you proud? Oh and he has made the coment "i dont want to go to the potty i want to be a baby" several times. HELP!

My 14 month old is usually sweet as pie, but around 6 at night, he can just be mean!! He throws things, bites, and when I change his diaper he tries to kick the crap out of me. No matter what I do to try to get him to stop, he thinks it's funny. Do you have this problem too and what do you do about it? Any helpful advice would really be appreciated!!! Thanks!

She has always been a picky eater, but she's been sick alot recently, so she's eaten even less and looks pretty skinny. You can see almost all her ribs now, I'm getting really concerned, but her doctor doesn't seem to think much of it. She's also constantly pale and tired.

I have been using the time-out method with my son since he was18months old. He is now two and a half and he still doesn't seem to be getting it. I'm at a loss. Has this method worked with anyone else's toddlers? I am starting to consider the other discipline option but I can't bring myself to spank him. any idea's?

My 19 week old had nicely settled into a sleep routine and even managed to get herself back to sleep again by herself until a few days ago. The second i put her down she screams and kicks her lets up and picks her body up towards the edge of the cot until her head is touching the bumper! We have to rock her back to sleep and even then the second we put her down she is off again - even crying in her sleep. Last night she was up every 30 mins. It seems she just wants the comfort of being held. She is also heardly drinking any milk and keeps refusing to take the bottle. Are these the symptoms of teething?

Every weekend is the same we stay in all day and play with toys or paint and stuff but it drives me insane because it is so boring!

We need to get out of the house but I can't think of anything to do that will not involve spendng too much money or getting too cold.

We live in a small village next to the countryside, only my partner drives but he is at work mostly. There are buses though.

I babysit 3 year old triplets. I knew when I signed on that they use spanking as discipline, but I wasn't sure how often, what they use etc. Just last night the mom was there with me and they wouldn't go to sleep. The lights in the room were off so I don't know what she did exactly, just that they started screaming and crying, then she yelled at them to shut up and stop crying, just to go to sleep. I was in the room at first and then I stood outside until she asked me to come in and lay with one of them who was being quiet.

Was she just frustrated and lost a little control? Or is this something that might happen often so I should call someone?
I don't know if I should go back again or what. Please give me some answers! Anything would be appreciated.

Okay, my mom took both of my girls last night and brought them home this morning. Well, my oldest wanted to go with her again. I only agreed because my mom hadn't seen them in a month. My youngest wanted to stay home with her father and I. My mom called me a few hours ago telling me she bought Liyah a new dress, shoes, leotards, a teddy bear, and a new doll. She also took her out to dinner. I don't think this is right. I asked my mom what she got Lyssa (my youngest). She said she was broke after buying for Liyah. I know this isn't fair to Lyss. My question, how do I get my mom to stop without making Liyah feel like she's the one that did wrong? I don't want her to think she did something when Grandma did it. What would you do in this situation? I don't want my girls to have to deal with their grandmother playing favoritism.

I am having a problem with my 2 year old. When he looses his temper he get really physical with me and not his dad he has hurt me so many times. When he was 17 months old he fractured my nose by head butting me! I am at a loss of what to do. I know I have to take into consideration that he has speech problems he doesn't say much. I am dealing with that though. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get him to stop this because he has a baby sister that is going to be 6 months old soon and I don't want her to pick up on this? And any reason on why it is only me and not his father?

We can't figure it out. Our 4-year-old daughter is suddenly desperate to go potty every 30 minutes or so. She goes maybe a teaspoon each time. Even going to the park today, she asked - what about potties? Could something physical be wrong? Did someone at preschool preach GO POTTY too hard? Has anyone else ever seen this? Help! How should we parent this?

I'm kinda lost, I started back to school last year. Recently we have had some bad weather(snow). What do I do when my daughters school is canceled and mine is not? I don't have family that can take care of her and her dad works. She goes to a private school so after paying for her schooling, there really isn't any money to put on other child care. I have been making my classes when she is in school. So what do I do? Do I miss school? My little one always comes first, but I feel I need to get through school, so we can have a better life. Any thoughts would be most helpful.

My son is a pretty good eater and can self- feed himself very well with small pieces of food. I have an unual problem where he doesn't like to touch certain food textures. Fruits and veggies that are slimy and runny he will only eat off of a spoon. In addition, he doesn't like very thick food textures that stick to his hands. I know this sounds crazy, but can anyone here with kids relate to this?

I have a 21 month old daughter, and the other day I was walking outside with her. She loves walking everywhere, and hates being in her pushchair- the only time she'll go in it is if she is about to go to sleep.
So, whilst walking, I was surprised when someone stopped me to tell me it was raining too much and that my daughter should be covered by sitting in her pushchair with the raincover over her...I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say to him!
It wasn't raining a great deal, and I don't think that she should be denied the chance of a walk just because it's raining!

So, was I being an awful parent, or do any of you let your toddlers walk when its raining?

my son is 18 months old, and LOVES music! i allow him to watch 1 hour of TV a day, and it's usually Nick Jr, or Noggin...but last month i flipped to the Disney Channel. when he saw the Imagination Movers come on, he laughed and danced soooooo hard. i went out the next day and bought a CD and the DVD....we both LOVE it. we dance and play all day long---when we're riding around in the truck, he watches the DVD and kicks and squeals!

our favorite are:
"my favorite snack"
"clean my room"
"i want my mommy"

what are yours/ your kids' favorite?

My daughter had extreme milk allergies when she was born so she was on a formla called Neocate. I switched her to cow's milk about 1 month ago and she had no problems with the cow's milk. She started refusing to drink milk about 1 week ago. I tried chocolate and strawberry milk in a bottle and a sippy cup but she refuses. What can I do? I tried giving her cheese but she doesn tlike that either.
