Nope. I think they're completely useless unless you have congestion from dry air.

From my experience it was much more effective to do the Johnson's Vapor Bath and warm bath water. The humidifier made the room humid but not really enough to help--but it also doesn't hurt--but you definitely need the children's vapor stuff in the humidifier. If nothing else, it made me feel better for my child. Be well!

Sure.

But if your kid is really stuffed up, mix one cup of warm (almost hot) water and 1/8 tsp salt until the salt dissolves, and then use a medicine syringe to put a few drops in each nostril. Then use an aspirator to suck out as much crud as you can. (It works great for grownups, too, but you can just blow your nose!)

THEN the humidifier will help keep them comfy.

Yes, from experience it can help. Keeps the child comfortable and able to breathe easier. I just love my humidifier. Opens up the children easier than anything else I've tried.

Actually - we have found it helpful, but ESPECIALLY when they get that barky, croup-like cough with the congestion. Also - I think it helps to keep the air moist if your kids are getting "dried out" from sleeping with their mouths open (stuffy noses) or taking decongestants.

yes it opens them up so they can breath and maybe a vaporizer would help.or tell them to get a shower with hot water and shut the door and that way the hot steam will stay in the room and open them up.

You know, it did when my baby was an infant... now, it doesn't do anything besides a noise maker when she is sleeping. I'm not sure if it's just an age thing, or if it's not needed.
