I run a home child care and alot of the toddlers are like that. some dont like the sticky feeling. one of them hates being "dirty" and has to have a napkin at all times. not crazy at all. If anything is normal. soon enough he will get used to the foods and than they want to THROW the food and laugh.

My son was like that. He is 17 now and has grown out of it. For the first few years I could not get him to eat certain foods because of the textures.

I have a disabled daughter who is like that. Some kids have an over-sensitivity to certain textures. Your son should grow out of it though. Nothing to worry about.

Some children just have quirks like that. That's the best way to describe it. He will be fine. It may just feel strange to him when he touches the food. As long as he's getting a balanced diet there's nothing wrong with him not wanting to eat certain foods.

Yes..this actually is very normal...My girlfriend has a 20 month old and he is still like this and has been this way since he started eating regular food....texture freaks him out!! The pediatrician told her this was very normal for babies...hopefully he will outgrow it soon!

My little girl (15mths) is the same way. Sounds like this is normal... I'll admit I'm the same way. Never have liked to touch anything a bit slimy!

Experiences? When I was little I liked food in little peices so I could play with it, but maybe it has something to do with the taste or smell? By smelling something I can tell if I like it or not.

My son was like that. He grew out of it on his own. I even had him enjoying play-dough eventually. Don't worry about it.
