My daughter loves lotion, soap, diaper cream, anything she can get her hands on. If I put lotion on her she tries to lick it off. Is this a sign of something serious and is there anything I can do?

I have a 5 yr old grandson who from the first day of his life had to fight a battle. He is phycially challanged and has a prostysis on his right leg, but gets around great. Due to his disability and uncaring parents, they did not attempt potty training until he was 4. Now parents are divorced, and very bitter with each other and use the kids to get even. I know the child needs counciling, but I have no legal authority over that. I am just looking for ways to work with him when I see him to encourage him to stay dry.

My sisterinlaw is mad at me because I told my son if anyone tries to kiss his peepee that he should smack them. Now he thinks he has an excuse to hit her 6 year old she says. I realized it was wrong so I told my son not to smack anyone and that he should tell me or an adult about it.

I have an 18 mo. old baby and her father is involved in her life, although he's not involved with mine. She visits with him x3 per week. They have a pretty good relationship (i guess?)
So my current boyfriend of 2 years just told me last night that he checked my cell phone and saw a text from her daddy that asked me "What I was doing" that night. Needless to say I never responded or call or whatever. Its obvious he would like to get back with me, and I've known that, but I'm just not interested and that is that.
But for some reason my boyfriend doesnt trust him? He wants my daughters father to not contact me at all unless its in regards to the our daughter. OK, I understand COMPLETELY.....but why is he stabbing me in my back by checking my phone!!! I have nothing to hide, thats not the point. If my boyfriend and I are talking about marriage and happily ever after, and he's on "my team" then why is he playing against me? I'm really pissed. But is it grounds to break up on?

My mother , A beautiful woman, died when my youngest daughter was 10mths old, she is now 3. My older children have wonderfull memories of her being the best Grandma on earth, which she was in our eyes, and they have clear ideas of where she is now ect. But little ellie has no memories, and is wondering why she has no grandma. We go to see Poppy and she knows thats where Grand ma used to live so where is she now? My son said that we were taking flowers to the cemetry for Grandmas birthday.....Ellie burst out with "At last i can see her!" she watches shows on tv where there is a grandma and you can see the longing in her eyes! Can anyone help? I feel so cheated on her behalf that mabey the answer is right under my nose and i just cant see it?

instead of having him in nursery all day - what are the implications for this regarding my benefits? i claim tax credits, childcare (which will obviously be cancellled), housing benefit - i have worked out that by working the last four years because i felt i had to on a socially acceptable level i have basically had the government pay for my childcare and would prefer they just paid me so i can actually spend time with my boy instead.. your views please?!

We are having an indoor pool party. The party room is VERY small so space is limited. Can anyone offer game ideas that can be done while the kids are sitting at the table or that don't require a lot of space?

we have bought him a potty, and he will sit on it, but he doesnt pee in it. He tells me "farted" or "stinky" when he has soiled his diaper, he so far doesnt tell me when he has peed. Should I wait until he tells me he has peed, or are there other techniques to try? I have never done this before so I dont know what I am doing. Thanks.

My son is four and has been going to the potty fine for about 2 yrs now. We recently took a trip that was about 1500 miles away by car (don't know if that has anything to do with it) but When we returned all of a sudden he started having problems going to the bathroom. He'll act as though he has to go and instead of going, he'll hold it and then he'll complain later that his but hurts from it. and has been going like every ten min. or so. so I quess my question would be, what is causing this, if he were doing it for attention I could understand but he isn't going to poop that much for attention. Is it part of an infection or something, something I should be concerned about? should I take him to the doctor? He has been doin this for about a week. does n-e one know what this could be?

My 3 year old son is really constipated. He needs to have more fiber in his diet. He drinks prune juice on a daily basis, but it does not seem to keep him regular. Is Benefiber strictly for adults or would it be ok to give it to him?

have anything to do with him not talking yet? He says just a fews words. He is not in daycare. He isn't around any other children at all. Just his father and myself. What can we do to get him to talk? I have tried not giving him his cup till he says cup or juice or something. But, I have been told that is not a good idea. That the child would rebel. What else can I do? Please help.

My 3-year-old daughter says that she is scared of her room. So, I went through and asked her which toys were scary and we took all of those out of her room. She still says she is scared of it. Any ideas of what I can do to help her get over this? Oh, she says she is scared of her time-out chair as well.
