My 4 year old hates doing her homework. Actually, the only part she hates is writing her name. The teacher writes it in yellow marker and she is supposed to trace it. She does pretty good with it, but is very reluctant to do it. Now, her teacher is not tracing anymore because it's time for them to start doing it themselves and my daughter refuses to do it. I want to be able to help her and for her to not get so frustrated. Any suggestions for parents who went through this?

I am a stay at home mom and I think I need a break. I find that I am yelling at my daughter, being short with everyone and just really want to not have to watch someone every second. I feel terrible saying this, but I never have an opportunity to miss her...is this normal or am I a bad mom?

I can repeat the letters over and over, even put them into songs other than singing the abc's.(I even dance around and make her laugh) She seems to get it all day long, but when the next day rolls around, she says she has no idea and says that her tummy hurts, etc. (I guess to get out of it?) I've worked with SO many 3 year olds before, but she's my hardest! I can't seem to do enough to get her to memorize her abc's. I'm worried she'll be behind; (I stay at home, no daycare) she's so smart but this is a problem. I've been working with her for over as year, and I think she might have to be with other kids to actually influence her to learn this stuff.

My daughter will be a year old Feb. 20th. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good no-spill sippy cup that is easy to drink whole milk out of? My daughter uses regular sippy cups now (that aren't no-spill) for juice and water and loves them, but when it comes to the no-spill ones she does not like them because it is hard to get anything out of them!! We will be traveling by train from Washington to Iowa a month after her first birthday and I need to find some good sippys that travel well! :)

Is it OK to give cows milk when my baby is 1 year old? I have a friend who's pediatrician told her to continue formula after 1 year old. He told her that because he can get more nutrients from formula, but.. since the kid is eating almost all kind of food.. is it really necesary to continue with formula? what is your experience or what did your Ped. told you?

me and my partner are both profoundly deaf, and we have a 16month old son who is hearing. we cope very well looking after our son and he is a very happy child.
however there is not much support for us...there are lots of support groups for hearing parents with deaf children but cant seem to find any for deaf parents with hearing children.
i really want the best for my child and dont want him missing out on anything, although being deaf its hard to know exactly what i can do for him. i have bought him music cds so he can listen as he loves music and we have a dance with him even though we cant hear it lol, we also take him to playgroups etc... to help his speech and mix with other hearing children. he is growing and developing well.
i would love to hear from other parents/people in the same situation and would love some tips and advice about what you have done or ay support groups you may know of (i live in south wales UK)

thanks!

My mother-in-law hasn't liked me since Day 1, possibly because my husband and I eloped. That hasn't bothered me as much as the way she favors my sister-in-law over my husband; when visiting, she'll stay at her daughter's house if she has to sleep on the couch, but she'll go to a hotel rather than stay in our guest room. She constantly gives my husband the cold shoulder, but the daughter's probably her best friend.
We had the first grandkid, and my sister-in-law had her son eight months later. I thought things were going better with my husband's family till our last visit: my mother-in-law kind of sneered at my son while smiling at his cousin; the cousin pulled my son down and hurt him and no one apologized, etc.
I really feel like my husband should take action here, but I don't think he will. Is there anything I can do to keep my almost-two-year-old son from feeling hurt by the preferential treatment? I'm afraid that things will get even colder if I say anything to his grandma.

My son is 15 months old, and he is extremelly active, he is always on the go, he won't listen and obey commands, he climbs on whatever he can put his feets on, he is the most restless kid I've ever seen. You tell him not to do something and he still does it, and loves to do the oppsite of what you tell him to do. Also he loves to be loud and very, very, very noisy either yelling or playing with toys that he can bang around. I was wondering if anybody has this problem ?. How can I deal with this? what can I do to improve his behavior? Is it normal for some kids to behave this way? I seriously need help, because I have no clue of what to do.

I'm only 8weeks pregnant, my eating habits have changed
I want fruits and vegetables all the time. And the most craziest crave is WATER, I want a cold rain storm to come and i want to stand in it bucket naked. When I see water on tv like commercials with waterfalls, or those face cleansing commercials when they're splashing there faces with water I just drewl over them, or drops of rain, I take longer in the shower because I would stand there switching the water cold to hot then hot to cold and let the water run all over me. When I wash my hands in cold water I get a high when the water turns extremely freezing cold. I thought I was dehydrated or something but I drink water now with no problem. is that a sign of a BOY or GIRL.

My son, who is turning 4 on January 31st, get's very cranky if he doesn't go to sleep on time. He doesn't take a nap, becuase it causes him to stay up late. He's been staying awake until 9:30 or so and is very cranky throughout the day if he doesn't go to sleep early. Any suggestions on getting him to actually sleep at 8:00 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Any suggestions on how to get my 18 month old preemie off of hte bottle? She has to have milk in a bottle and absolutely refuses to drink it out of a sippie. I have tried many sippie cups and she still won't do it. I even tried cutting the spout to make it a faster flow (thought that it could be the thickness of whole milk and that she has to suck harder out of a sippie than a bottle to get the milk out) and she still won't accept it. Any thoughts or suggestions??

My 3 alomst 4 yr old is completly out of control. Me and her father are at the end of our rope with her. She has absolutly no respect for us, authority figures or anyone for that matter. WE DID NOT RAISE HER TO ACT LIKE THIS!!!!! She literally does what she feel like doing. She climbs and jumps off of everything she can find, destorys her room within minutes of us cleaning it, yells screams and is very disrespectful. You tell her not to do something she does it anyways. Just vaccuming the family room has become a nightmare. She will run around like some crazy wild animal screaming yelling and jumping around while your doing it and on top of it will unplug the cord a million times. I about to go completly crazy. I cant even take her to the grocery store anymore she climbs out of the cart and will run around the store as fast as she can untill I can finally grab her and leave with no groceries. Friends & preschool are non existant because no one wants there kid around my

My son is 3 and has chronic constipation. He goes to the doctor and they put him on medication to clean him out but then he becomes constipated again. We don't know what to do. We put him on the potty after dinner and he sits for 30 min but will not do anything. If anyone has any ideas about what we can try I would really appreciate it.
