Is this OK to do? My 18 month old refuses to drink regular bottled water, even the nursery water with added flouride.

Propel is not an energy drink. It's a fitness water. It does have added vitamins and calcium.

I wouldn't. For two reasons: First, the levels of vitamins and minerals added to the water are meant for adults. Too much of some nutrients can be a bad thing. For example, too much calcium can lead to kidney stones. Second, if there are any artificial sweeteners in it, then that's not good either. (I've never had Propel or read the label, so I'm not sure if there are.) I know they say to not give toddlers too much juice, but if you are worried about her not getting enough fluids, and you haven't tried giving her a mixture of half juice and half water, I would definitely try that first. Good luck.

I give it to my sons all the time (about 2-3 per week) but I mix it with reg. bottled water (3/4 propel and 1/4 reg. water) and they love it. Kids don't like water it has no taste. If you want her to drink plain water try putting a pinch of sugar or some other flavor in it just a little to give the water some kind of flavor.

I give it to my kids! They are 2 and 3, they like water though, but I use the Propel (and others that don't have sugar) instead of giving them juice all of the time. I don't see anything wrong with it!

I wouldn't do it.Water is very important for everyone to drink-including kids. Start your child off right. Too many kids are getting too many sweetened drinks now, that is including juice. If your child drinks juice, it should not be straight, it should be mixed atleast 1/2 juice & 1/2water. 1/4 & 3/4 water even better. If your not doing that, start weining the juice. Add more water a few days later, more water, week later, more water. It will be sweet at first like the child is used to, or likes, gradually, you will have won.

If you're gonna do it, I'd use Vitamin Water. They make a clear-ish kind and Vitamin Water isn't as sweet so maybe your toddler will learn to like regular water. Propel is just sugar water. I wouldn't want my kid in the habit of drinking that junk.

I wouldn't give the baby that stuff. I think you also posted something about her "refusing" to drink out of a sippy? Maybe being a little more firm, but don't hound her. Stop giving her the bottle. Give her water or milk in a sippy and leave it at that. She might throw a minor fit, but when she's thirsty, she'll drink it. I think you said she's a preemie, but doesn't there come a point where you've got to stop catering to her?

Propel is water with added vitamins.....You will be fine letting him/her drink that, but have you tried PediaLyte?

P.S. Some NFL teams are even starting to drink infant PediaLyte!

I don't know what propel is, but I would use juice and slowly water it down

There is nothing in it but a little flavoring and some vitamins and minerals. You might want to double check with your doctor, but I can't see anything wrong with it. There is no caffine or sugar either.
