This is all that you need, children and adults alike that are constipated, or have hard stools. You must use PURE MAPLE SURYP. Adults, depending on their size, a couple tablespoons , for a toddler, just a 1/4 teaspoon to a half teaspoon depending on child's age and size and the results will come within that night without any side effects! It is awful that one has to use Milk of Magnesia and have to use something to stop going to the bathroom after taking that stuff from the pharmacy!! This is the best and natural sorce, don't get that Ms butterworth or junk like that. Get the PURE MAPLE SURYP!
Try to get the suryp made from Wisconsin. Most health stores have it, some regular grocerers have it too. . Your baby will go, ands then will go again, but it should be mostly solid if you did not give too much to Toddler, so don't worry, and dont over do it. If baby won't take it on it's own. make a pancake and pour it on a piece of pancake or bread and use a small bit and then if still constipated, ( patience! ) But within that same day!, do it again with lunch, right before the regular food. As we all know, too much, is a disaster and Baby will feel sick, so just a bit at a time . This is the safest way to go. May try a quarter teaspoon then do it again if baby has not passed within 3 or 4 hours. If baby has been constipated for a very long time, then you know you have to ask advice from the doctor. It is really good to provide a touch of pure maple syurp a couple times times a week. I I had to take medicine that blocked me as well as my hubby has. Pure Maple Syurp is safe without cramping and stomach pain and causing diahreah. I have also lknown this to be effective to children. Just don't be in a hurry to have stools pass. it will happen and safely and happy happy happy! No Side effects! Remember juat a touch of it for toddlers at a time. You will be pleased that you don't have to give your child chemicals to pass poop. Let me know how this helped, Ok???

My pediatrician said to try Metamucil Wafers. They aresoft wafers that taste like cookies. They have apple flavor or cinnemon. They help and work FAST!
Most people reccommend juice or prunes. They help prevent constipation, but do nothing for the (how do I say it???) "product already plugging them up". I have found any juices, etc work too slow if the child is in painful constipation. Also, it is hard for them to eat while constipated, as the bladder is pushing up on the stomach giving them a sensation of being full.
My daughter was to the point of tears and I had to use a liquid glycerine suppository which made her go in less than 30 seconds. Restrict all dairy when your child has constipation as well. Good luck!

opposite to what Evita stated above, bananas might want to correctly be very constipating for toddlers and adults and regrettably a mess of human beings feed their toddlers bananas by no ability suspecting this. when you're feeding your infant bananas decrease them lower back or remove altogether and see if that permits. make confident your infant is getting adequate drinks. Constipation is a demonstration of inadequate hydration. also, do not provide your newborn coke. you don't desire to attempt this. There are more effective organic treatments available that do not contain the caffeine, sugar and disproportionate phosphorus to calcium ratio. those interior the understand keep in mind that coke is undesirable for the bones and tooth and also you don't desire to make a contribution on your newborn's bone loss and tooth decay.

My daughter had chronic constipation. First try the "P" foods. Prunes, pears, etc. Stay away from starchy foods like breads, rice, bananas and oatmeals. Remember that fiber SLOWS DOWN the digestion...you want to speed things up and allow the body to absorb less fluid from the food. Make sure your little one gets plenty of fluids, and make a lot of it water and not sugary juices. In the end, nothing worked for us and since my wife has Hirschprungs disease, we ended up seeing a specialist. Turned out our daughter doesn't have it (thank god) but he said that she probably inherited a propensity for things to move thru slowly. Our doc gave us a prescription for Glycolax which worked like a charm. She gets it in her milk every morning, it has no taste and no problems since then.

Applejuice and water to make sure they are getting enough liquids - then get the little glycerin suppositories found at stores like wal-mart and drug stores to aid in ease of bowel movement after a bout of constipation. They are not harmful. You may need to use a bulb syringe with a lil warm water and give them an enema if there has been no bowel movement after other attempts.

We tried everything from prunes to applejuice. Our doctor recommended mineral oil, tasteless and odorless. We put a capful in his milk for a day or two and WHAM a bm. Whenever we get a bout of constipation we turn to the good ol MO and it never fails us. Good luck.

Make sure they are taking in enough liquids. We feed pears when ours are a little constipated. Stay away from apples, bananas, crackers/bread/cereal until things get back to normal.

First, make sure she is getting enough fluids: juice, water and milk.
Then increase her fiber intake: Fresh fruits and veggies and whole grain crackers, for instance. Raisins, plums, peas are good choices.
Bananas are not good for constipation...
Massage his/her belly to help stimulate the bowels to move. Use firm and gentle pressure.

Water and something with a lot of fiber (like a piece of whole grain toast, or some raisins). The number one cause of constipation is dehydration...so make sure he/she is drinking enough. :)
