I was a nanny for a little over a year. The family I nannied for did pay me when they were on vacation or sick or whatever. It was just a huge plus for me. I didn't expect them to pay me but they did just to show appreciation I guess. A lot of daycares require you to pay when you don't bring your child at the last minute just because they are depending on you to make their own living. As for paying your nanny when you are on vacation I think it's up to you. It's probably not expected that you do pay him/her, but very nice of you to pay SOMETHING. It's hard when you're trying to make a living to depend on someone else. So I would just figure it out for yourself. If you feel you want to pay him/her than do. Maybe just pay them partly. It's up to you though.

Whether she comes with you or not, yes you should pay her something. However, I don't believe that the reguler rate would always apply. It also depends how much notice you gave the nanny. If this vacation was spur of the moment and she is not going, I would pay the full rate. If this was planned and the nanny was given plenty of notice, I think a deduced rate would be in order. Maybe half of the normal rate.
If the nanny is going with your family, and is going to be expected to work on her/your vacation, then full time pay is the right thing to do. After all, you don't them 24/7! Hope this helps!

As a nanny, yes, I am paid during my employer's vacations. I am given 3 weeks of paid vacation every year ... 2 that they choose and one that I choose. You are paid for your vacations (most likely) and if your children were in daycare, you'd have to pay to hold their place. If you've found a good nanny, do yourself the favor and just pay her while you're gone. Nannies have bills to pay too.

Yes you do unless you want her to seek other employment while you are gone, which may mean that you won't have her when you come back.
It's important to treat your nanny really well since they are caring for your most prized posessions.

maximum nannies get carry of their customary fee plus an in one day cost of round $one hundred/evening yet as your babysitter sounds youthful and eco-friendly, it truly is likely okay to forgo the in one day cost. once you're finding out to purchase the holiday, your babysitter is in no way indebted to you and may no longer receive any a lot less because of that. it truly is not her holiday- it truly is yours. even as a nanny travels with a relations, it truly is nonetheless artwork yet harder because youthful babies are harder to take care of even as mom and father are round plus you're literally not getting to relax at homestead and sleep on your own mattress. perchance you should ask her what she needs. in case you're fortunate and she or he doesn't understand the going fee, she'll charge you a puzzling and quickly fee

Not unless she goes with you. But give her ample notice so that she can find other temporary work if she needs to.
