I think it's okay to teach children self defense. Based on what you told him, he would have smacked your niece only if she tried to kiss his privates, and in that case, smacking would be ok.

That's a good one, I like that. He should smack anyone that tries to kiss his peepee. Maybe I'll tell my son that. The only thing is that kids take things too far. I wouldn't apologize for him as he's just being a kid but I would immediately teach him not to hit.

I don't see anything wrong in telling him to smack someone if they are touching his peepee. Unless the 6 year old is touching him there it doesn't give an excuse to hit her.

I understand what you are trying to do but not really sure why you worded it that way. Would it really do the child any good to smack some who is even touching him in a bad way? My children are taught what is a good touch and a bad touch. They are taught to scream and fight, get away and tell an adult that they trust.

i say you are completely right. he should know that it is more than acceptable to hit, kick or do anything to anyone trying to touch him in an inappropriate way. now you just have to teach him that its not ok to hit, unless someone is doing one of those "wrong' things to him. also you should teach him no matter what anyone says to him, it is ok to tell you if something bad happens. even if the person said not to, or said something bad would happen if he did tell.

You are right to tell him to smack ANYONE that gets near there, Realtive OR other wise. Tell your sister in law she should teach her daughter NOT to go near boys private areas or she will have worse troubles in the future.

you did good . but let him know it wasn't his fault so if it happens again he want be afraid to tell so one. that's what i did but i told mine to knock the h___ out of them . i meant it . your not teaching them to fight with kids your telling them it's o.k. to protect your self. if they understand to only hit and scream if some one touches them where they don't like to be touched. just make sure they understand the difference. good luck with your son. oh and your son should have the right to hit a 6 year old girl if she tries to kiss his pee-pee.

your child, your rules and don't change them for anyone. it wasn't wrong in no way. she shouldn't be down there in the first place and so should anyone else. stick by your rules.
