She will only drink milk if it's in a bottle--if I put it in the sippy cup she refuses to drink it. She's okay with going off the bottle but how do I get her to continue to drink milk?

I've read parents commenting on leaving their toddlers in time-out so long they fell asleep!! We're talking about children under the age of two! It was my understanding that two minutes is long enough for a two-year-old. Rule of thumb: one minute of time-out per year of age. What do you think?

I am very confused. MY son just turned 5 on January 16. His preschool teachers just told us that they recommend another year of preschool. If he does this, he will turn 7 in kindergarten and graduate when he is 19 1/2. They said he could improve on self confidence, writing, and cutting out objects. He knows his numbers and learning the alphabet, so they are not worried about his learning skill. His motor skills needs improvement. If we hold him back, will it be odd that he could be 2 years older than some of his friends? I was 17 when I graduated. It just seems strange.

I've seen this question before but maybe ideas?
My son is 3yr 1mo and understands what the potty is for, and has actually used it twice about 2 weeks ago. I am having him sit to pee, and he will sit and talk to me on the toilet.
I don't know if it's my timing, or what, but he uses his pull-ups as diapers, and it's a huge expense for me. I ask him if he wants to go sit on the potty, and he says no (but he says no to everything right now.) but he will sit on it if I take him to the bathroom, and isn't upset as if I were pushing him.
Since he doesn't always answer truthfully and says no about 75% of the time it's very hard to know if he's "getting" it when I say that he went potty in his pullup and he should use the potty. When he wore diapers, he would tell me when he needed changed, but he doesn't now that he's in pullups! Help! I mean, he's done it before, why not now?

My Q. is this - my older daughter is obssesed with "little" toys (Polly Pockets, Little Petshop, etc.) and she has that stuff all around the house. Now my baby is almost 5 mo and soon she'll be crawling all around and, of course, picking up stuff and putting it in her mouth - what do I do????? I mean, don't tell me to explain 3yr old to don't leave it around,I tried and she's trying but that's all she plays with and there is always SOMETHING on the floor (if not those toys it's hair clips, rubber bands,... all lined up in some imaginary play....) How did you deal with this???

Ok, so tomorrow I am babysitting a 2 1/2 year old boy. He usually loves to play outside and go on my trampoline (he comes to my house) but it is really cold so I don't think we will be able to go outside. He doesn't really like to watch t.v he rather run around. I was wondering what are some activities I could do with him to make him to have a little bit of fun.

So if any one else who has babysat a kid this age please give me an idea of what you did to keep the child busy or parents too what do you do with your kids?

Reminder* 2 1/2 year old BOY
Nothing mean either serious answers please

My son is 14 months old almost 15. He is sick with a cold, I turned the vaporizer on and was wondering if it would be okay to give him a pillow as a prop. He does okay with them during naps and such. I thought it may help the coughing.

My kid is now 1 year and a month old. He cant speak a word. He can listen even a pin drop. I am very worried, maternity nurse said he will be ok. I have seen many kids who start talking even before the age of 1 year. He had DownSyndrome test but it came negative.

Please advise what should I do...

We have no elders to guide us here.

Thanks

When my son was small, he had a book where one dog walks by another and says, "Do you like my hat?" and the other dog replies, "No, I do not like your hat." It was one of his favorite books, but now neither he or I can remember what book it was from. We think it was by Dr. Seuss, but we could be wrong. I'm pretty sure we got it from the Dr. Seuss book club. We're wanting to get it for my goddaughters. Can anyone help identify it?

My 3yo son got in trouble yesterday, the details are not important but my wife was going to spank him. He ran to me and said "No, only Daddy spank me" Yes, I did spank him; and after I did, he told me that he wants only me to spank him. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am interested in hearing the opinions of other parents that have seen something like this in their own children.

By the way, this is not a forum for debate on spanking. Don’t waste my time and yours telling me that you think spanking is wrong/cruel/abusive etc. My opinion is not going to change nor is my use of spanking as a discipline tool. I am just asking if anyone else has seen anything like this.

My daughter is 14months and does not seem to talk much yet. She will say mama, dada and good. She babbles like crazy and follows directions, she just does not say many words. I always read to her and talk all day long with her. If she is not saying more by next month at her 15month check up, of course I will talk to her doc about it, I was just curious about other little ones her age.

Thank you for any input!

I've tried thread in and outside the bottle telling her its bugs she just takes them off the bottle, water not milk and hot souce but as my surprise she loves hot and spicy things. I've giving her Milk in cup or in a juicy cup but she won't drink it. she wants nothing to do with any of that other than her bottle. Don't get me wrong, she doesnt have a bottle during the day only at night before bed time and at five in the morning while I'm getting ready for work. I give her the bottle because I dont want her to go through out the day with out drinking any milk. But I just can't figure out a way to take her off the Bottle.

My 2 year old daughter has had a rash for 17 days now. It looks similar to scabies but the doctor told me it was not scabies. The first doctor she saw said it was viral. When the rash didn't go away and actually got worse by the time the doctor said it would go away ... I took her to another doctor. That doctor said it was most definitely NOT viral and tested her for allergies. She has a low allergy to peanuts and dust but they explained that that is very common and nothing to worry about. They said it was not causing her rash. They're washing their hands of it and sending me to a dermatologist. We'll be going in 2 1/2 weeks. She doesn't have any other symptoms. She hasn't even had a cold in months. What could this be? Prednisone won't even take the rash away. Thanks and God bless!

Has a rash that starts in the inner thigh area and then goes up to his little (sack) area but then when it gets there it turns into little blisters and is very painful for him when I get him out of the tub after letting him soak all of the Desitin and baby powder off?? This is the very first rash he has ever had.

Tonight hubby and I will be going out for a couple of hours. His two female cousins (one 18, the other 20) will be staying at the house. The girls ( 14 months) will both be asleep by the time the girls will get there. My twins sleep through the night, so the cousins shouldn't even have to go upstairs. What should I pay them?! I got all their favorite snacks/sodas, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
