My 3 yr old nephew's left side is hurting him so bad that when he walks he is limping. I was looking for maybe a good website not webmd that could give me some hints. He doesn't have a fever, direha, vomiting, nausea, or any other symptoms but pain in the side. My sis in law said he had been constipated before so i was thinking maybe that was it. What do you think? Please only SERIOUS answers.

She eats two breakfasts, two snacks, lunch, & dinner every day. The pediatrician is very involved & has stated she is just the product of thin parents. He does not expect her to be any heavier and today she was given a clean bill of health. Bottom line, she is thin, very healthy, and without pants. Does anyone know where I can find pants for her that have the elastic in the waist band in size 2T? Again, she is healthy, just thin. Her Dad is 6'2' and weighs 165 pounds and I am 4'11' coming in @100lbs (after two babies.) PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What do you call yours and where are you. I've recently heard them called daps in a school in the south west- I did not have a clue what the child was talking about until he explained to me!

My son has never slept through the night for any long period of time. A couple weeks ago I decided to let him cry and he slept about 3 nights through. Now he is waking up again 3 or 4 times per night, sometimes a quick cry and back to sleep, sometimes he cries for about 20 mins. I just want to know if anyone knows why he would still be waking? I'm pregnant with baby number 2 and I want my little guy sleeping well before the new baby comes or I'll never have any rest. Thanks for any advice!

I was adivorced single parent for 3 years of my sons life. During that time I would tend to let him sleep in my room- mainly because we would both just end up falling asleep after reading. But I am now married and my son is four. The past few nights I wake up and he has gotten in the bed with us. No matter what I say or do he just won't stay in his room. Anyone have any suggestions for putting a stop to this?

Okay, I just started recently putting my 3 year old in her own bed. she sleeps in there, but she crys and screams for about an hour before she actually goes to sleep. I give her her stuffed animals and a little milk, and read her a story every night, but she still screams for me or her daddy to come lay down with her. We just let her lay in there and cry herself to sleep, although i really hate to do that. any suggestions to get her to quit screaming and throwing a fit.

My son's new day care center will close for two days in Feb so the staff can attend a training conference together. In our state, they must all have 16 hrs of training annually and CPR/First Aid (not counted as part of the 16 hours of development training). I have worked in day care before and worked as a resource person for day care/parents-I know how tough the job is and I truely appreciate them for doing this-hey my child will benefit directly if they keep up with training. The owner of the center and I talked one night at p/up and she was saying that some staff fuss a bit for the cost of the training and getting a room and see it as a burden. Since the owner has a limited budget (if you find a way to make big $$$ in day care-let me know) she can't cover all the costs. It was just a talk, but now it has me thinking. Would it be wrong, or impolite, to give the center a Visa gift card to help with gas and lodging on the training trip? I want to show my support, not ruffle feathers!

My niece is due to start primary school in september yet she is still in nappies and refuses to go anywhere near a potty or toilet. I am asking for advice for my sister who doesn't know what to do.
She has tried many times to train her, using bribes, reward charts etc.
She puts her in normal knickers and her daughter just pees herself everywhere, doesn't seem to notice or care that she has done it. When she needs a poo she goes into a corner to hide.
She has asked the health visitor and doctor but they are not very helpful, just suggesting things she has already done.
THe longest she has done is 3 weeks of just peeing everywhere before she gave up and put the nappies backon.
We know the little girl is not incontinent as she can hold it in when people are around and go into a corner to do it. And she doesn't have special needs, she is very intelligent in most respects.
Is there anything we can do? Will she never use a potty?
By the way she is 31/2 when she starts school she will be 4.

I have a small bed and it is really crowded with her, me, and my husband. She will only sleep with us in our bed. I am tired of getting kicked at night by her and waking up sore because I have no room to sleep. I love her but I need my rest. I am always tired and cranky because I get no sleep. She will not sleep anywhere but with us in our room. And there is no room in my bedroom to put her bed too. I barely have room for my bed and it is small. Would I be a bad mom if I just put her in her bed when it is bedtime and shutting her door and letting her cry? I see no other solution. I have tried EVERYTHING else. I love my daughter so much but I can only take so much.

Has anyone ever experienced this? My daughter absolutely hates to be laughed at. I mean, all the time, even if something is funny. She gets really upset and angry. She is always very self conscious when someone laughs. I can not count how many times she asks why are you laughing? Or if someone laughs at something cute she has done while out in the public, she will ask me "why is this person laughing at me?" Is this normal? I'm really concerned that she has or is going to have some sort of complex. She's only 4 - you would think a child likes it when you laugh. Anyone else have a child that absolutely hates it when people laugh?

My son is 11 months old and I started putting 1 once of whole milk in his formula. I was told to introduce it gradually. It made him really gassy and he spit up more (he has reflux/GERD). Doc says give soy milk at 1 year instead. Please HELP with any input. THANKS, Amanda

He does understand the concept of timeout so recently I have been sending him to the timeout couch where he stays and just cries it out, but i need a way to head off the whiney behavior without reinforcing it,because it is becoming the norm at least two or three of these crying fits a day. With my girls who are older 15,13 and 11 and now a 20 month old boy I stayed home and took care of them and do not remember them having quote this many fits. Husband though has been out of work with broken hip that wont heal after first surgery and taking care of our baby boy. Husband has same personality as the baby (or vice versa) Husband very high strung type of guy...and apparently my son is too. He can be funloving and laughing and then just turns to this cranky whiney boy, and this is after a good nap. I am a seasoned Mom of 4, so only mothers or fathers with kids please answer this question, those who are experienced. I have tried loving him and hugging him which only reinforced the behavior.

My son is not really talking. I mean he can say mama, dada, baba, get,tv and he calls his sister T T. His doctor is concerned that he is not speaking. But he listens,he colors, jumps plays, he seriously holds a conversation with you in his own words. He has perfect understanding. He points at the tv and says tv. He wants to watch it sometimes I say no....this two year old debates with me he points at me and then the tv and ask why in his language with his shoulders up. I say no again and he starts arguing. I dont see him not fully speaking at age two a problem.

This despite our having a maid keep her company through the night, she throws tantrums upon being asked to sleep in her room. She keeps repeating that she is afraid to sleep alone eventhough we monitor her watching tv & making sure she does'nt see any horror shows .Any suggestions that would make her feel more comfortable in her room,as for example changing the direction of the position she sleeps in,or hanging some patterns etc. in the room to ward off bad dreams, putting some particular colour's night lamps in her room colouring the room with fancy patterns or the like?
