It has something to do with birth. Natale in Italian means Christmas, so I am sure the name Natalie relates directly to that. But I never met a Natalie who was born on Christmas.

I wouldn't stop that from using it if you both really like it. A lot of good, common names have weird meanings that don't line up. For instance, Olivia means "elf army"... lol. The meaning probably won't even come up a lot. If it's something you think would bother you continuously in life I might consider using something different... but name meanings rarely come up. & when they do it's never in any kind of important discussion or serious thing. The big drawback would be that she probably wouldn't want to get one of those keychains with her name and meaning on them... or the magnets, lol. Really that is the only time I can think of my name meaning coming up.
