I had to use tough love, I sternly told my daughter not to come off her potty seat or out of the bathroom until she did something in it.
This was my biggest challenge of child rearing. She cried and I just sat outside the door yelling she can't come out until she used her potty. It sounds mean, but it worked- after a meal wait 5- 10 minutes and go with her to the bathroom, before you leave the house have her use the bathroom, when you get to your destination use the bathroom. Just be stern, I know it rough but it was the only thing that worked for my two children, both were rough to potty train. (also I never used pull ups- went straight to underwear) Good luck!!

well i have a three year old little boy i didn't start till he was 2 and half one day i just asked him if he wanted some pants and a special toilet seat (thought going straight for the toilet would be easier) while in mothercarei let him pick them out (bob the builder) and when we got home i told him that if he wanted to wear the pants he couldn't wear his nappies anymore, and that he had to also use his special toilet seat he was really excited about it from an early age he has always come in and out of the toilet (right or wrong it does not bother me) about 20 pairs of pants later and he cracked it, i think because i left it so long he just seem to click with it.
Hope that help good luck

From my experience with three grandkids, Disney's "Bear in the Big Blue House Potty Time" video/dvd is the best. You can locate it on www.amazon.com/ [Bear-Big-Blue-House Potty/dp/076783822x] Bears open discussion, acceptance and songs help motivate the child to become interested in the process. I think it will be worth a try.

I did not see your specific question, but I am a father of 6. Are you potty training a boy or girl? For girls we found the best was a pretty pair of panties they wanted to wear & gentle reminders. For boys, let them pee outside (privacy of course) Boys get too busy to think about such things unless there is a certain air of excitement like peeing in the backyard!

i have a boy and girl and were both poty trained by 23 months all we did was stay in most days for a couple of weeks and let your chid wear no pants and put them on potty every so often and keep asking them every now and then if they need a wee dont put nappies back on them theyll only end up confused once trained with no pants on in house then start putting underwear on it worked for us
