Fingerpaint!
Make your own using sweetened condensed milk and food coloring, it dries glossy and if he puts it in his mouth it won't matter.

My son loved his Hot-wheels at that age .
Forts are also lots of fun with blankets or couch cushions. My 2&1/2 yo loves just sitting under a blanket with me or playing peek-a-boo.
If you do colouring make sure you use crayons as they don't make that much mess.
He sounds like he's very active so you could play "catch me!" or tickle attacks which would involve lots of rolling around on the floor.
Then after you've got him all wound up read him a story to calm him down before mom & dad come home.

It sounds like you have a dominance issue. The pup needs to learn that the other dog is alpha. She will never know this if you keep them separate. Do not scold the older dog for telling the pup whats what either. This will only cause resentment. If the pup is bothering the adult, scold her, she's lower in status and needs to learn her boundaries. It may seem that the pup is being sweet and cute, but obviously the older dog disagrees. In canine terms she is being pushy and dominate. When the pup finally gets the point your older dog will likely come around and probably will play with her. Are your dogs spayed? If not this WILL become an issue when one female or another comes into season. In a dog pack only the alpha female breeds and they will often time fight for this right, even if the alpha is well established. I HIGHLY recommend spaying both for behavioral as well as medical reasons.

Im a nanny for a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. They both love making rice krispie treats..they are easy. alittle messy, but fun. They can help decorating them and stirring. Another fun thing is build a fort and have a picnic underneath. Its fun.

There are so many things you can do with a 2 year old! Kids at this age love to play with blocks... stacking them up and then knocking them down! If he loves cars or trucks (like my little friend) then u can easily keep him occupied. 2 Year olds love to run around... and even dance! Put on some music and teach him how to wiggle, chances are it will keep him busy and tire him out. Crayons and paper, books, or playdough might work out too!

Play dough! It's a good way to go over colors and shapes and you can make different animals with it. Plus it's cheap the party store has a party favor with a little of each color for under 2 dollars.

Set up several "stations" ahead of time. Blanket with books, table with paper and crayons, pots/pans and spoons on the kitchen floor, big paper bag with cars inside (or other toys). This way there are things for him to discover. Also, kids at that age like to move from activity to activity and back again. If you set it up ahead of time you can spend more time playing and less time organizing and worrying about what to do! Have fun!!!

Shaving cream!! Squirt a nice pile directly on a non porous table or surface and let him finger paint. It's a great tactile activity and cleans your table at the same time! And theres no mess to worry about on his clothes since it's soap.
Here's a tip for cleanup: Let the shaving cream evaporate for 30min or so and then there is less to wipe up. :)

Simple...color, finger paint, take a stroller ride at the mall, make a picture glueing little pieces of color paper to another piece of paper. Read books he likes. Play hide and seek.

You could color together, if he has lego, build things together, etc etc. Kids his age need different things to do. They dont play with one ting too long. Just see what toys he has and work with that. Ask the parents if they have any crafts around to do with him. Play hide and seek.
