Kids usually break out of good potty traing histories when they are stressed or when something changes in their life.

It is a faze and he'll go back eventually.

Maybe try giving extra praise for going on the potty and spending time with him while he's going potty.

Well, there could be a medical problem going on such as a urinary problem so you might take him to the doctor. If there is a new baby that could be the cause, or if he is in day care it might be an attention seeker type of an issue. There is one other possible explanation, please don't be angry I read it somewhere in all the potty training books I have bought over the years. If a child is potty trained to early and is doing great for a while then regresses, it could be that the child was potty trained to early. I don't think it is that, I would tend to think it is a medical issue.

If there has been any major change that has happened recently this can be the cause. Actually. It most likely is. For example. If you moved, he went to a new day care or got a new baby sitter then those can be some reasons of why it is happening. It will take him a while to get used to things again.

Keep taking him to the bathroom every so often and remind him. With reminders and you taking him that should help him a bit to get used to everything. Don't scold him or yell at him. It happens with kids. They don't have well developed bladders yet and at 2 1/2 years of age he has a very smaller bladder compared to ours. Just give it time and keep reminding him and taking him every so often and pretty soon he will be back in tract the way he was before. Good luck.

They will usually regress like that when there is some kind of stress introduced. Take the time to really sit down and think of ANYTHING new that has been introduced in to his life in the recent months. If you can't find anything in that respect definately look in to his daycare or anywhere he is spending time as this can sometimes be a sign of abuse. Good luck.

Do you have a new baby? Sometimes kids go back to accidents when they become a sibling
