my son is going to be 4 in a month and he still isn't potty trained. he pees in the toilet almost every time, but he refuses to poop in it. i found he liked to have those little popsicles in the plastic sleeve after he peed for his reward, but i don't what he wants for pooping. i don't want to reward him with food or he will end up overweight because he will associate happiness with it. i have offered him a quarter every time he goes so he can get things out of the machines at walmart, i've offered him stickers, anything i can think of, even a hot wheel each time. he started pooping in the toilet for about a week or so, and suddenly stopped and poops in his underwear again. i let him pick out his own underwear at the store so he'd feel involved and want to wear them, but it isn't working. what do i do??? he needs to get potty trained or he can't go to preschool....

Ok, I am looking for this toy where the child sits on it and they can either make it move by pushing on the ground with their feet or they can just turn the steering wheel back and forth and it will move. Does anyone know what its called?? I think they are relatively new.

I have a five year old daughter named Tessa. She has been becoming more and more sexualized ever since she turned four. At first, I thought it was music videos and TV shows that influenced her to be like this. The behaviour is still exhibited even though I have blocked all MTV and "O.C" shows. I've talked to her, but her language comprehension is not really good. She doesn't seem to understand me!

Anyways, what I am really worried about is what she told me in her sleep. She was lying in bed, dozing off, when I went to pat her on the head. Half awake, she mumbled "Momma...". I asked her if she had fun at the party she went earlier in the day. She replied "Fun... A boy got naked on top of me... he hugged me..." I was stunned. I called her name... "Tessa, Tessa, what happened?". But she was fast asleep. When she woke, I asked her about it. She said she didn't know.

About the party: It was a bday party and it had kids ranging from 2-10 yrs old.

What is the best way to deal with a soft hearted 4 year old boy? Let him cry over everything and leave it at that, or do something to toughen him up?

my daughter started her first day of daycare on Tuesday. She is 4 years old and always had a family friend watch her, and she hadsnot ever been to a daycare. So on Tuesday when I picked her up she said that two 6 year old girls were throwing wood chips at her( the playground area is all bark chips) when they were outside. No big deal, I told myself, they are kids. So the next day she says that the girls kept telling her she was a boy, and she couldn't play on their team. I was a little mad (she has short hair), but thought, ok, I knew she would get teased with short hair, and I told her when she wanted it cut it may happen. So I didn't make a deal about it. So the third day, I go in to pick her up, and right as I am about to say her name, a girl sitting in the chair across from her, reaches over, grabs a handful of my daughter's hair, and yanks her head. I was pissed. Now my daughter who wanted to go to school so bad now hates school, and is begging not to go back. What should I do???

My almost 3 year old girl just started peeing in the potty and has done very well with it. She refuses to poop in it tho ! I am tired of having to change pullups because of poop !!!! I have tried bribery and promises. I've tried reasoning (which is impossible with one that young), I've tried yelling, sending to bed etc...HELP!!! I don't know what else to do ! Is this one of those instances where you just ignore it and she will grasp the concept on her own?

my daughter is two years old. she utters some easy words in her mother tongue but not much. she can understand what others say and can show every details like hand, eyes, legs, television etc. with ease . she can make others understand what she wants to say by using signs. she has the tendency to utter the first part of the word but not the whole word. I think she should have picked up speaking sentences by now. but its not happening. we are very worried. please advice.

My daughter is 26 months old and still has her binki. (plug whatever you call it) I tried weaning her from it a little bit before she turned two, but I was on bed rest because I went into pre-term labor and so we had family staying with us to help out. When we wouldn't give it to her she would start bitting her hand. I've had the second kid (8 weeks ago) and she still bites her hand. What do I do? If she is playing and occupied she forgets about it but as soon as she gets bored or tired she throws a fit for it. (so she mainly has it for nap time and bedtime) but I want to get rid of it all together. ADVISE PLEASE??? and I don't want any she's way to old for it I know that I am just worried about her bitting her hands if she doesn't get it.

I know all about sids (well all that they know and teach us) and suffocation with a pillow and stuff like that, and I also know that it is best for everyone to not use a pillow, but most people do. So does anyone know when it is as safe as it can be? (don't worry my sons are 1 1/2 and 3)

How do you out stubborn a three year old? Our daughter is more stubborn than either one of us. You ask her to do something and look her in the eye and she will sit there and pout and say, "I tant (can't) or It's too hard". In order to get her to do somethings I will count to five and she won't move until I am saying Fi...... . Even that doesn't work all the time. We have tried utlimatums and rewards, nothing has worked. Any suggestions? We do not believe in corporal punishment ;-), spanking or mental abuse or scare tactics. Serious replies only, PLEASE. Reply ONLY if you are a parent.

Thank you.

Hello. I have two daughters, one of them is 15 and the other is 5. My five year old daughter has been showing signs of sexuality for about a year now. She chooses to dress VERY slutty. She likes to tie her T-Shirts to show her waist and rib cage. She does not get this behaviour from my older daughter. My older daughter is actually very tasteful when it comes to dress. Anyways, my 5 year old daughter, named Tessa, really likes to copy the dance moves she sees on music videos. It is very disturbing for a mother to see this. I've actually had complaints from other mothers commenting on Tessa's behaviour. I think she even shows signs of early masturbation. She really likes touching her "area" and uses poles and other objects to rub against it. She always rubs up against table legs and chairs whenever she can. The other night I was bathing her and she kept poking her "area" with her finger. It is okay for girls to be curious but she does not laugh or anything. She is stonefaced as she pokes

I have three children. My girls are 9 and 5. My son is 3. I use to say I had good children, til my son was born. He is into everything...we have had to put locks on the fridge, the pantry, his sisters rooms.....everything. I tried spanking him once, he laughed. He sits in time out, gets out and does something else....nothing seems to phase him at all. He is not spoiled and is not allowed to do whatever he wants. I just have no idea what else to do. He has been sent to bed right after dinner, spent a ton of time in his room with no toys or tv...NOTHING BOTHERS HIM!!!!!
Help me!!!!!
