My babysitter found a book at the library for infants and toddlers that had big google eyes on it. My son loved it! But since then, we haven't been able to find it and the babysitter doesn't remember the title. Anybody know of this book, or any like it?

He is not my child, this is a day care so I can't hit him in anyway! Time out doesn't work. I know he knows what he is doing because he'll look to see if I am watching him. as soon as I look away he is into everything!!!! I'm getting really close to asking his mom to find someone else. I just can't bring myself to do it because I've watched him since he was4 months old. Help me please!

My son, who is 14mos old, poops at least 5 times a day (it was 8 when he was an infant). Is this healthy? He poops so much that he has diaper rash at least once a week. And sometimes, for instance right now, he has it so bad that he screams and puts up a real fight when it comes to getting changed. Last night he was so sore that it woke him up from a dead sleep. I have used everything, A&D, hydrocortisone, balmex, huggies diaper creme... And the idea to use a warm washcloth is nice for people who are at home all of the time. I would have to be home 24 hours a day to be able to use that method with the amount of times my son poops. Anyway, I don't want to see my son in pain anymore. Yet, unless you are checking his diaper every 15 mins, it's difficult to always get the pop off right away. Is there a type of food I can avoid feeding him to prevent this? What can I do??

My 2 year old and my 7 month old baby girls just started going to a babysitter while my husband and I are working. For the last week or two I have heard my 2 year old call her babysitter's husband daddy. And, he answers her without correcting her. I don't want to correct her in front of him for fear of hurting his feelings, but her daddy loves her very much and would be crushed if he knew she was calling someone else daddy. Is this normal? What do I need to tell her? What do I need to tell my babysitter's husband?!

I have to take my daughter to a contact centre to see her dad who was violent towards me infront of her. She is terrified of him. She is only 3 and has been referred to counselling as her personality has totally changed since last incident 5 weeks ago. She has not seen him since and when I try to mention it in an exciting way..I even manage to put my personal feelings of what a total ******* he is to one side, and make it sound good. She becomes hysterical. How, as her mum, someone who is meant to protect her from the bad guys, do I take her to see someone who she feels so scared of? Any advice please to make it easier for her..I'm lost on how to help her now.

I did the whole let him fall asleep and put him back in his bed thing, then I tried the "nanny" deal where you put him in his bed and basically let him cry himself to sleep. If he gets out of bed don't talk or make eye contact just keep putting him back in his bed. It worked for a while but then I was so DAMN exhausted I would wake up in the morning and there he would be. Dosen't matter about my hubby cause he works nights. But Geez oh pete's sometimes it freaks me out to roll over and feel him there. Or be in a deep sleep and get kicked in the chest or something. any new tricks out there?

my son smacks everyone in the face, not out of anger, but out of excitment or playfullness. i have tried correcting him by:
1) telling him firmly "no no! that hurts mama!, no smacking!" while holding the hand he just smacked me with.
2) i put him down when he does it and tell him "if your going to smack mama, then you can't sit in my lap"

i'm running out of ideas and this has been going on for about 2 months now..any ideas? any moms dealt with this problem and had a successfull outcome?

I'm a single mom of a 2 year old. I go to school full time at night. My daughter doesn't listen, doesn't do what she's told and I know she's just being two, but that on top of me having homework and not having really slept in 3 days, its really bothersome. Any ideas that someone could help me with?

My son was born a big boy.(he weighed nearly 12 lbs) He is now 22 months old and in a size 6 diaper. They are starting to get a little too snug. Is there a company that makes diapers in anything larger than a 6? Potty training is not possible at the moment because of a daycare situation.

My daughter just swallowed one magnet (thank goodness, not more) It was pretty small. Probably just a bit smaller than a penny. Has your child ever done this? Did it pass through? Did it make them sick?

My little boy is almost two and a half and for some reason he screams really loud and mostly all the time. He even wakes up most nights 2 - 3 times and he screams. It is really taking its toll on me as most of my discipline tactics are not working. I am planning to have another baby soon but Im afraid that dream is about to go down the tubes because I don't think I would cope. Other than the screaming I am coping with everything else ok. My whole houshold is at their wits end. Does anyone else share my pain?

I guess I would be considered an Atheist. My wife calls herself a Christian, although she doesn't really practice it. I am not a militant Atheist who thinks the word God should be removed from everything. I really could care less if it's on the US currency or in the pledge, however I am opposed to it being taught as fact right along with reading and math.

That being said, it is time for my 4 year old to start pre-K. We checked into some private schools and simply cannot afford them. My wife is trying to convince me to send him to a Christian school. It is only for one year(next year he will start public kindergarden). She insists that the amount of bible taught will be minimal. I am against the whole idea. Am I over reacting? She says that I can explain to him that there are different belief systems and that it's okay to believe whatever you want or nothing at all. I just don't want him being brainwashed for 4 or 5 hours a day. Anyone have any experince like this?
