Hey, relax hon, if they eat a jelly bean they found behind the couch, it counts as food!

Two methods to doing this, both of which may not work. First, remember this rule always: it has to appear on their plate 18 times before they will even try to eat it. Yes, you have to waste 18 servings before they'll eat it. No biggie, just make your serving small and eat his when he's not looking lol.

Oh the second method? Don't ever offer it to him if you want him to actually eat it. Just put it on your plate and he will automatically want it, especially if it's yours. This works best if the parent sitting next to him physically does this method. Shake your finger at him and say something like "don't try to eat my asparagus, it's mine, mine, mine" .... a sure-fire guarantee he's going to at least want to try it.

Wow. I think that's alot for a 3 year old. perfectly healthy.
My daughter smelled everything. Still does. (she's 22) As long as the food he eats is healthy and a decent variety he's fine. I worked in child care for 20 years. Once there was a 3 year old that would only eat chicken nuggets and apple juice. This went on for a year. He's fine. Keep offering him different foods. His taste will change as he grows.

That sounds like a normal 3 year old food list to me! Just to second what everyone else said, keep offering new foods and he'll eat them. When my daughter was around 2 1/2 or 3, we started the "one bite" rule. We told her she had to take one bite of something at dinner, every single night. She's 4 1/2 now, and we still do this (unless we KNOW it's something she doesn't like). I think that is why she's such a good eater, for the most part. If you keep introducing things, he'll end up trying it. But his current menu sounds normal to me. Well, except for the salad! LOL! How on Earth did you get him to eat that?! My daughter tried salad but spit it out! So count your blessings with that one!

sounds pretty normal to me, however I would cut back on the fries, nuggets and pizza. Give the healthy foods that he likes, like cheese, pb, bananas, apples, grapes, waffles (sans syrup or very little) and cereal (not sweetened). He is getting good nutrition so long as he is normally active, bright eyed and not cranky. Introduce new healthy foods as he likes, for example french toast instead of waffles, orange, and alittle more protein choices. Lots of people smell their food before eating it.
talk to him about what you like and begin to involve him in shopping choices (healthy). Offer him the choice between 2 new fruits or something, and get all excited when he chooses one and when you get home, let him have it because he chose it.
have fun

My son has always been a picky eater. He's almost 4 and will really only eat baby food veggies...but atleast he's eating them!

Bribe him with treats, not food, when he does eat something new. Expose him to lots of new food and show him how you eat different things.
Reward him lots and stop feeding him the junk he likes. When he gets hungry enough, he'll eat.
Try making home made versions of the nuggets, or pizza, or pancakes and make them healthier. He'll eventually turn his taste buds around.
I'm lucky enough to have my 16 month old daughter who will eat anything you put in front of her from tomato to noodles. Totally opposite children...

Good luck!

eating with braces is going to be complicated the completed time you've them on, so that you're continually going to might want to rigidity about getting nutrition stuck in them. After some months you receives used to the feeling of having the braces on. they'll continually be a touch uncomfortable, yet after a lengthy time period, eating will come evidently to you and also you in hardship-free words isn't as paranoid. So supply it some time, and produce some floss and stuff with you, and also you'd be wonderful! good success :)

My friend had a similar problem with her daughter, but her daughter was very picky and her doctor told her as long as the child is eating then that's what matters. It seems that he's getting veggies if he's eating salad and fruit and grains.. so I say he's ok.... you might "bribe" him to try other things, have him just take one bite.

My son was very picky when he was about that age but grew out of it. I only wish I could get my kids to eat fruit and veggies.

I think as long as he's eating then he'll be fine. If you're concerned about the nutrition then they have those shakes for kids Pedicare or something like that.

I wouldn't get too upset yet because he does seem to be eating pretty good food. Some kids go through phases where they only eat one thing for weeks..If he were doing this as a 7 yr old or something, then I would talk to the doctor.

That's not a bad list for three. There are some nutritious foods on that item, so he should be fine. Tastes change throughout the toddler years as the palate matures.

Nothing is wrong with him. It's normal for kids to get stuck on foods and not want to try others. It sounds like he has enough of a variety that he is at least getting good nutrition. Just try and offer him new stuff sometimes. Eventually they move on to other stuff. Good luck!!!
