That's actually a very good thing that he's doing that. He's just repeating what they say because kids like repeating things from people who they look up to. For example when little boys see dad fixing things with tools, they want to be like dad. So when he sees (or hears) somebody on tv that he looks up to he wants to do and say what they say.

yes this is normal! My little girl does it all the time it is actually very good for them to repeat other peoples words (unless it is bad language) Even when we are walking through town and she hears someone say something she will copy them.
It can be annoying sometimes though like when i am on the phone she will repeat everything i say word to word! She is 3 by the way

yes it's normal, my little girl does it too. I think she's just trying out new words, getting a feel of the sound, and repition helps her commit it to memory. When I hear her saying random words, I help her by explaining what it means, and using it in a sentence ie: You're room is a mess! Let's clean up the mess...so she knows how to use it properly. Hope this helps.

This is very normal. remember at 4 they are still getting used to the sound of their voice. My son is 4 and he says the same things over and over again. That is good that he is being vocal and recognizes words that end in the same sounds. Good luck with your little man!

For a younger child, yes, that is perfectly normal. But with a 4 year old... does he repeat any other action? LIke rocking back and forth, Spinning toys, ext. How is his speech? Is he using complete sentences? If yes, ask him why he does this. If no, I would talk to a doctor or speech specialist.

Sure it's normal. My 2 1/2 year old likes to repeat words too. She learned "Hola" from Sesame St. We went to a Mexican restaurant and the server said "hola" to her and she said "hola" back. It was so cute. :)

My 2 year old does that all the time - he actually has favorite Winnie the Pooh scenes memorized and acts them out during supper, in the car, when trying to get him to sleep...
Anyway, I believe this is normal.

Just wait until he is 13 and begins quoting the whole programme, out of the blue, and wonders why you aren't on the same page!
Yah, it is normal. It is also a good thing. ; )
