I have a five year old daughter named Tessa. She has been becoming more and more sexualized ever since she turned four. At first, I thought it was music videos and TV shows that influenced her to be like this. The behaviour is still exhibited even though I have blocked all MTV and "O.C" shows. I've talked to her, but her language comprehension is not really good. She doesn't seem to understand me!

Anyways, what I am really worried about is what she told me in her sleep. She was lying in bed, dozing off, when I went to pat her on the head. Half awake, she mumbled "Momma...". I asked her if she had fun at the party she went earlier in the day. She replied "Fun... A boy got naked on top of me... he hugged me..." I was stunned. I called her name... "Tessa, Tessa, what happened?". But she was fast asleep. When she woke, I asked her about it. She said she didn't know.

About the party: It was a bday party and it had kids ranging from 2-10 yrs old.

If what I suspect happened really happened... what should I do? Will there be any problems? She can't get pregnant, right?

From what I've heard am not sure if a child that young would be that expressing so many sexual things unless something was done to her by someone.

I admit I don't have kids, but just think about when this started? If you feel it is connected to this birthday party, you could subtly ask other parents or whoever was there if they saw anything out of the ordinary going on. If you outright say you think you're daughter was molested am sure many will close up fast not believing you unfortunately.

Could it have happened anywhere else? with anyone else? friends? other family members? Try to keep an open mind about everything in order to get to the bottom of this.

I belive that at a point of sleep many things are going through a persons head. At a young age the imagination is at work and can put many different things together to form a story. She may have seemed half awake but might have also been dreaming. Many ppl talk in their sleep. My daughter talks in her sleep as well. She has also told us awake that elmo has hit her or her baby spit at her. But even though maby nothing has happened at the party. someone is putting these sexual thoughts in her head. At night she is dreaming up a story about what she has heard through the day. So my best advice is to look into who is spending time with her.

Also there is no way at that age she can get pregnant. hope I have comforted you.

No a 5 yr old girl can not get pregnant, unless she is already menstruating. Kids don't just "get" sexual. They have sexuality forced on them. I would say that you need to find out exactly what has been going on. Take her to her doctor and tell him of your concerns. A simple vaginal exam will be able to tell whether she's been penetrated. If she has, it wasn't by a child between 2 and 10 years old. If she has been violated, she needs more help than you're able to offer her. Get her into counselling as fast as you can. Once the doctor finds signs of violation the police and child welfare authortities will become involved. Child molestation is a crime.

Mathematically, she's too young to get pregnant, especially if she has not had a period. As for the party, if you know the parent that gave it, make a discreet inquiry about whether your daughter did or said anything unusual or inappropriate. If nothing comes up and you are still concerned, talk to your Children's Aid Society. You've done nothing wrong so have nothing to fear.

2- 10 years old...if she's only 5, its possible that maybe one of the older boys there might have been sexually assualiting her! definetly try to get some answers out of her, and ask the parents who watched the birthday party if anything weird happened during the party. but DEFINETLY look into this, it might be important to the future of your daughter.

Everyone who has answered so far is going on and on about how your five year old daughter is probably being sexually abused by another child. BUT IS ANYBODY NOTICING YOUR VERY LAST SENTENCE? If your daughter died a year ago and you are having dreams about her that seem real (especially not-so-pleasant dreams), you need to see a phsyciatrist.

you need to talk to the person in charge of the party, and ask what went on and why was she not being supervised at the party. talk to the boy and his parents and if you still feel weary about it....call CPS and have it investaged....that is too much for a five year old to know.......who knows maybe she was dreaming....but you cant be too sure nowadays.....there are boys at the age of eight who know what to do when it comes to sex.....hope i have been some help to you....good luck
